I ordered this to replace my ball that was lost when I dropped my phone. The replacement ball did not work very well. It took forever for it to respond to motion in any direction (up, down, left, or right), and if it did respond it would move just one space/item and then you are stuck again trying to get it to move more. Needless to say I ended up purchasing a new Blackberry Curve, this time with the touch pad instead of the trackball.Customer Review: What a Relief!

We bought a Pearl from Alltel. The trackball broke within the month and Alltel told us it would be a $100 deductible with our insurance on the phone. I was skeptical that this replacement part would work--that if Alltel couldn't do it cheap than really who could?
This works better than the trackball that came with it and made the phone feel like a new phone.
You won't be disappointed with this replacement part.

After finding out about the notorious trackball issue with Blackberrys I was happy to find this low-priced replacement on Amazon. Ordered, arrived within a week. Replaced the bad trackball with the new in about 1 minute. It works and solved the problem way cheaper than buying a new phone. It was easy to replace, everything just snaps out and in. Excellent replacement for the defective trackball on my Blackberry 8800. Cost to have it replaced by a repair shop 35 to 50 dollar. Cost to replacement it myself 1.76 plus free shipping. Not to mention the ease of repair. Phone is back up and running like new. Who knew you could get a replacement trackball for your blackberry delivered for under $5. This now going to be a regular 6 month service for me. This is a great deal and the delivery was fast. The instructions made it a 2 minute replacement and my BB is as good as new.
Don't wait until you "need" a new trackball. If you use your regularly or play any games on it, change your trackball every 6 months.
