Customer Review: Great product for the money
Summary: 5 Stars

I chose to give this product 5 stars mainly based on the price I paid for it in relation to the quality of the product.

As far as the base is concerned, all parts seem very strong and durable, and the telescopic holder is very sturdy, holding your iPod in any position in which it is placed.

I also tested this unit with my video iPod and my wife's Nano, and both attachements provided a snug fit for either devices.

Regarding the reception, it took me a little bit to find a station that worked well with it, but when I did, it worked flawlessly. I even took it cross-cities (Salt Lake to Park City) and through canyons and it kept playing great.

I have no complains regarding this product. It seems that there are other products out there for quite a bit more money that may do a better job, but for the money, this is a great buy.

*UPDATE*
It is now almost August of 2009 and I am still using this iPod connector!!! It hasn't given me an ounce of headaches even during travels (and we travel by car A LOT).

Customer Review: The BEST
Summary: 5 Stars

I have owned the itrip, which was convienient, because you could take it anywhere (being cordless) and play it on any radio. But the sound was absolutly awful, and it drained the baterry. Then I bought the Transpod, which was an improvement, b/c the sound was a little better, and it charged the ipod. However, It was ugly as junk. Anddd after just a month of owning it, it broke. All It did was sit in my car. You can tell it is very cheap. So now I bought the belkin tunebase fm...ANDDDDD......This thing is amazing. The sound is serously BETTER then a cd quality (if you beleive that) I serously have never heard the bass in my car hit so sharply. It also charges it, and the tunebase is pretty small and holds the ipod without any ugly cords. You need to find a station that doesnt have reception for it to come in perfectly clear, and at times I do notice the ringing noise the other reviewer mentions, but I rarely notice it. I give the itrip 2 stars, the transpod 3, and this thing 5 stars by far. I don't know how it compares to the other new fm transmitters, but compared to the older ones, it is in another league. I highly recommend it.

Customer Review: Crap doesn't even begin to describe this thing

I got it a while back but my car was a 94 Pontiac Grand Prix with the radio ant. in back of the car by the trunk. This didn't work well at all. Granted I live half way between Atlanta and Macon (GA) and can pick up stations from both cities but the tune base would fade in and out... AND NOT PICK UP ANYTHING ELSE!! when it did pick up the signal, it was weak and very staticy (think A.M radio at night 100 miles from the station). I just bought a new Mercury Mariner (new radio) with the arial up front, about 2-3 feet from the tunebase, ITS WORSE!!! I spent about 4 hours the other night trying to find a space between 2 stations that was not getting any bleed over, found several but it didn't matter, this steaming pile of garbage STILL dropped the signal (again, only about 2 feet from arial, and about 5 inches from the radio it self).
I have never wanted to throw something as bad as I did this. If the cop had not been behind me today, it would be on the side of the road somewhere, hopefully busted into a million pieces of crap.
Guess I will have to have the radio upgraded to have an mp3 adaptor added

Customer Review: You get what you pay for
Summary: 1 Stars

I recently purchased this product in hopes to eliminate the mess of wires in my car connecting my iPod to the stereo. This one plugged right into the cigarette outlet and you could easily move it to fit your car. That part was great; it was out of the way, the iPod was safe in the cradle, and it was unobtrusive when you were driving. However, I was disappointed in the sound quality it produced. After using it for about 3 days, I had to revert to my old Monster connector. When on a radio station (88.1 or 88.3, one of the stations programmed in the Belkin) you can hear a faint high pitched annoying noise. It's almost as if it's feedback from the radio, but the songs playing from the iPod did not mask the screech. On louder songs, the noise was harder to hear, but on softer songs it was unmistakeable. This ruined the enjoyable aspects of the Belkin and made me go insane whenever I heard that noise, which was every time I turned on the Belkin/iPod combo. My advice is this: It is a great design, however, I'd spend the extra money on a higher quality product that delivers greater sound quality.

Customer Review: Would have been great....except for
Summary: 2 Stars

Considering all of the positive reviews on here about this product, I thought I would come and add my experience with this product. Let me start by saying that it sounded GREAT in my 2004 Xb. Sound quality and electronic functionality were not an issue with the product (for the two days I used it). And I think the placement of the ipod is great (other than my concern noted below).

My basic reasons for giving it 2 stars are that the arm was shaky THE MINUTE I STARTED USING IT. I am hoping to find a product that will last many years, and I am not confident that the arm on this product will hold up my 60GB for a long time. I kept having to readjust it. It's possible that the 30GB wouldn't cause this problem.....but I don't have a 30GB.

Second, this item would not accomodate my case (I use a clear hard case). I have no interest in removing the case every time I want to listen in the car, so its being returned ASAP. If you don't have a case then this is no problem.

Anyways, if you aren't concerned about these issues, enjoy your purchase.
