Customer Review: Getting my Ergonomics on Mouse Style

I ordered this ergonomic mouse pad after experiencing wrist pain from working at the computer at work. Being a geek, I am in front of a computer while not at work so I wanted something to prevent pain from occurring at home as well. I am very impressed with this product. The wrist pad is very comfortable; which I didn't expect at first because the gel is very firm. Also the surface of the mouse pad portion works very well with optical mice (a big concern of mine, since I abandoned using mouse pads when I switched to optical mice and noticed that the mouse pads destroyed the performance of the mouse). The pad itself is very stable, it doesn't slide around on the desk. All and all this was a great buy, and I recommend it to everyone.Customer Review: Great for Carpal Tunnel - But Belkin Changed the Design

I've bought several of these from Amazon, so I'm averaging out my reviews. The original mouse pad that I bought was terrific, I've been using it for years now. Incredibly comfortable, and it kept away any carpal tunnel issues that I previously had.
Those that I bought in the last two years or so, though, feel completely different. The rest gel for your wrist is stiff and not at all relaxing, and the mouse glides a little too easily for me (makes it harder to control).
I'd give the original one I bought a five, it's an amazing mouse pad. I'd give the new ones that I bought (same exact Belkin model from Amazon) two stars, or a generous three. I wish I knew why they changed the design.

The Belkin WaveRest is good, but not as good as expected.
The Gel wrist pad is somewhat stiffer than others, and does not stretch and flex as much as I'd like. It almost doesn't feel like gel, but more like soft rubber.
Also, the mouse pad area is a bit small for my liking. If you're thinking of using it for gaming, you'll often find yourself running out of space.
On the other hand, its feels ergonomic. The Gel Pad comes already modeled to the shape and movement of the wrist, and my hand doesn't feel tired or numb even after extended hours or use.
Its a plain and simple good product for overall use, but not the best pad if your planning to use it for gaming.

I've had several of these, which I bought over 5 years ago that I use at both work and home. Being a software developer, I use it 8 hours a day at work. They are worn out and I needed replacements. I was a bit hesitant to buy one after reading some of the reviews that described the subtle changes to the material and problems with optical mice.
I will report that yes, the surface material has changed slightly. I can also report that I've had NO problems with either of my optical mice. One is a Logitech MX400 Laser Mouse and the other one is a standard Dell optical mouse (red LED under it).
Therefore, I will be ordering more.
Customer Review: You won't believe this - new material not "compatible" with the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 (Possibly the 5000 as well)

I know it sounds crazy, but I couldn't figure out why none of my Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse 2.0 mice were not working anymore. (Tried four of them) I happen to set the mouse on my desk and saw the cursor move.. ah-ha! It was the mouse pad.
I absolutely love these Belkin ergo pads and usually replace all of ours yearly. I just replaced our last year's pads and it seems the new material that works great for all our other mice, just doesn't work with the "Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse 2.0"
These were purchased Mid November 2010.
I put my last year's Belkin pad for the computer using that mouse and I'm good to go. Otherwise, they are perfect!
