I own two of these units now and while I was quite happy with the first one, adding a second has introduced a problem I didn't anticipate. I probably should have, but I didn't.. The remote for one turns on, or off, both power strips. Unfortunately, I typically don't want them both off at the same time.. *sigh*
So.. while this is a really cool item, it does have this flaw. I'm looking for a solution, but, as yet, have not found one.

This thing is amazing. the switch works just like a remote for a celing fan. the range is identical. (you may have to be carful on your dip switch setting's if you have a wireless celing fan remote.) you can mount the remote any where enabling you to turn some or all of the electronics pluged in. Great to have around kids. this way they dont not turn electronics on they do not need to be playing with. until they get old enough to figure it out.Customer Review: Had to reconfigure the setting

When I got this product, I thought the battery didn't work because the remote didn't work. It was some weird size (A25 or something), but I found it in the electronics section. When I replaced the battery, it still didn't work. I called customer service and was told to reconfigure the code shared between the power strip and the remote. I had it set on 1-0-0 on them both and was told to change them to 0-1-0. It worked. And now I love it.Customer Review: Great features in a power strip.

Very cool concept with productive features. I hadn't really thought about having a remote switch as an option, but upon stumbling on this version it became apparent to me the virtues of such a device. Power strips are often tucked behind some form of furniture, and can be awkward to switch off. Additionally, mixing switched outlets with others that are "always on" is also a wonderful option. I really like this product and use it in my quest to lower my energy bill. This product eliminates phantom loads that devices draw even when turned off. This strip eliminates that when you click it off. The only feature of the product I don't like is that you have to use the remote control to click off the devices.
I prefer a device that turns everything off when you turn off your controlling device.
