Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Belkin Armband Case for iPod nano 1G, 2G (Black)

Customer Review: Good product for the price, but...
Summary: 4 Stars

This product is a great buy if your looking for something to hold your iPod for moderate physical activity. The rubber case holds the iPod snugly in place, and the elastic arm band is not too bulky. As a female with an athletic build, I found the arm band to be sufficiently sized; not too big, not too small.

However, if your looking for an armband that's durable and won't cook your iPod, keep shopping. I use this band/holder almost everyday for vigorous training workouts and 3-5 mile runs. The velcro and material on the strap sometimes chaffed my arm on longer runs. After 5 months, the rubber case that holds the iPond began to rip where it loops around the band. More importantly, when my body heat rose during workouts, the iPod heated up and locked up while in the rubber case. I couldn't make any selections for playlists or volume, nor could I turn it off. I just had to let it cool down. I'm curious to know if anyone else has experienced this.

All in all, it's a good product for the price; just not has durable as I had hoped.

Customer Review: love this thing - couldn't run without it!
Summary: 5 Stars

i seriously bought this thing like THREE YEARS AGO, maybe four. It still works, but the silicone case is starting to tear. And I am back to buy another one, because I know it works for me. My only complaints after all this time: the elastic has worn out a little bit after so much use (3-5 days/week) so now I have to wrap it more and more tightly, and the aforementioned tearing case. It still works, but I want to buy one just because my nano (2G) is so old now that I'm afraid I won't be able to find these for much longer. Heck, I'm tempted to buy 2.

I think I had the screen protector on at some point but I thought it was more of a hassle than it was worth, so I just use it without. It works with the Nike+ iPod thingy sticking out of the bottom and if you have super long earbuds, they wrap easily around the back of the ipod so they don't bounce around all over the place and annoy you while you're running.

Definitely recommend this - not like a lot of people are in the market for a 2G nano case, but hey - you never know! :)

Customer Review: The best of what's out there
Summary: 4 Stars

After looking for over a week I settled on this sleeve. It fits my 2nd generation nano very well, except that the hold button is a little hard to get to and you have to move it around to plug in the headphones or 30 pin connector. The rubber is very flexible and seems durable, although I have only been using it for about a week now.
It does come with a screen protector, it's hooked into the cardboard that is inside the sleeve when you take it out of the packaging. However, it is too large for the screen on the 2nd generation nano and I had to cut about 1/16 of an inch off of two sides to make it fit flush with the aluminum casing.
The armband comes off easily and functions well when I've used it. The velcro holds onto itself very well and the iPod feels very secure when I use it to jog or lift weights.
Overall, I like this product very much. If I lost it, I would buy it again. I gave it four stars instead of five because of the too-large screen protector and the issue with the hold switch.

Customer Review: Thin Arms? Don't Buy it!
Summary: 1 Stars

Swayed by the overwhelmingly positive reviews on here, I bought this armband despite the few reviews that noted it might be too large for anyone with thin arms. Surely, I thought, since this was a product designed for people who RUN, its armband couldn't be THAT large.

Now, I'll be the first to admit: I have skinny, wimpy arms that will look like sticks no matter what I do. But arms that are, you know, pretty typical for the class of people I had assumed Belkin designed this armband for. But this doesn't come close to fitting my arm--the Velcro would need to extend for about three more inches to make this tight enough to stay on. The case itself is fine, but not worth the purchase if you can't use the armband as well.

After this sat in my desk drawer for a couple months, I gave it to my mother so she could use it at the gym. And you know what? Last time I went home I saw the ipod in its case, sans armband. Too big for her, too!

Customer Review: Good for light use
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this about a year ago and was happy with it at first. A few months, and a few hundred running miles later, it has not held up well.

The silicone sleeve fits the nano perfectly, allowing access to all the controls and ports. The nano slides into the sleeve from the bottom, which allows you to attach a nike+ transmitter. It works great at first, but after some use the nano slips out of the sleeve by itself. After a while my nano slipped out whenever I ran. My solution has been to where the sleeve upside down - it works, but it's not elegant. The elastic strap has not held up well at all - it has lost much of its elasticity, and is much looser than it used to be, even when cinched as tightly as possible - it now slides down my arm on runs.

Bottom line -- I think this sleeve is a good low cost, light duty answer. More demanding users should look elsewhere, or resign yourself to buying a new one every 9 months.
