The item works fine when it is plugged in, the problem is that it unplugs VERY easily. The part that holds the plug in place just does not "snap" in like my other cords. If you don't move the cord (or any other cords adjacent to it) its really not a problem, but if you components are in a hard to get to location (which mine are) and you move the item it is plugged into (to dust, or adjust cords, or add other components) then it does occasionally come unplugged. For that reason I ended up buying another cord to take its place and moved it to a location that is easier to get to and less likely to come unplugged.Customer Review: Belkin AV20000-06 PureAV Digital Optical Cable (6-Feet)

Well, what can I say, there are quite a few products out there in the market and quite honestly some are really overpriced! This cable does the job, does it well and for a really good price when it comes to this type of cable. I was kinda expecting something a little cheaply made when I took a chance on this purchase but the cable really is sturdy and works great; i have it connected to my PS3 with a 2 in 1 optical splitter and combiner to my receiver that only has one input and I have my XBOX 360 on the other input and they both work great. I purchased it with some of its brother digital coax cables because my now obsolete Toshiba HD DVD had only an optical digital audio output. It worked imediately and works very well. The packaging required some effort to disassemble, but because of the stout packaging there was little chance it could be damaged in shipping. My only wish was the multiple cable discount that Amazon offered included cables I did'nt need, so I purchased each ala carte & spent a little more than I might have to get the combination I needed, but both this and the coax cables worked greatCustomer Review: Eliminates Noise! This cable has eliminated all noise from my system! Also, I was happy that the cable "clicked" into the cable box and receiver. I think that the "click" has to do with the components that you have, not the cable itself.
I have an HD cable box, connected with hdmi to the plasma hdtv. My 5.1 a/v receiver doesn't have hdmi, so I was running composite stereo from the HD cable box to the receiver. Unfortunately when the volume was lowered, I could hear low pitched noise. There is no noise with this cable!

very nice toslink cable that feels like its going to last for a while
i dont know about the rest of the reviewers but my receivers are leveled and never tugged on or touched so the cable stays in place perfectly
the sound, tho, is not that good for me but ive been thru alot of amplifiers and expensive monster cables so im veeeery picky. plus im only 19 and haven't lost any of my hearing.....
im using it for my room, not the living room but for average users, its alright..
