Should I give five stars to a product that works just as expected? This little accessory did just that. However, it didn't surpass my expectations in any way, so I've just picked four stars - better than average.
I purchased a new external drive for video production but couldn't use it for that because there was some sort of conflict that caused the external drive to dismount when I imported data from my camera. My computer had two external drives (FW800 & FW400) and the camera was a firewire connection also. At the suggestion of the maker of the new external drive, I purchased this FW Hub and problem solved. I have no idea why this device would handle the traffic among the external drives better than the internal hardware/software of the computer, but it did.
