Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Belkin USB 2.0 4-Port Ultra-Mini Hub

Customer Review: Best mini USB hub around.
Summary: 5 Stars

PROS: This mini USB hub is better than any other I tried. Very easy to use, highly functional, and easily transports with your laptop. The design is good if you have a bulky USB to plug in, so that it doesn't block any other SUB slots. It even works for the harddrives I plug into its USB slots, from the bulky ones with a power cord, to even the small WD passport harddrives! Plus, it's easy to use. All you have to do is plug it into one of your USB slots, and then plug your items into this Belkin's mini-hub, and it's ready to go. No software needed! I'm very impressed with this. And the price (under $10) is great.

CONS: Only thing I don't like is the short cord. I prefer a longer cord, so that I can more easily plug other items into it.

SUMMARY: Highly recommended if you need more USB slots.

Customer Review: Absolutely PERFECT Product
Summary: 5 Stars

Now living in South Dakota and working on a laptop with only 3 USB ports, I purchased this product for the extra hardware I needed connected. This product is small, and absolutely works perfectly. I would recommend it 100%. The company is also reliable. Although I will add that I ordered on June 9, my tracking information showed delivery on June 14. It did not arrive on that date. That's okay. It did arrive today about 3 pm on June 16. However, in checking my tracking information on Amazon, it still shows "in transit". Also, it was sent through the USPS, and if you use the Amazon tracking number to track through the USPS, it will show as an unknown number. Perhaps not important, but it was a bit confusing to me. Anyway if you need extra ports, this is the one to get, absolutely !

Customer Review: A tight four-some
Summary: 5 Stars

Purchased about 2 months ago, product has worked fine since with multiple USB connectors plugged in at all times into my Dell desktop. I use it at least weekly to plug in USB drives (various brands), camera USB connectors (for a Sony SLR), and/or a backup drive (Iomega) that require no additional power, and the hub does its job of connecting all.

The 4 directions do cause a less than streamlined appearance of the cables, which would be less of an issue if you use it with a desktop that is stored under the workspace area. Not a major issue though.

A possible future product feature (only applicable to desktops) may be an adhesive that would allow plastering the hub to a side of the machine, to reduce dangle of cables hanging from 4 directions out of the hub.

Customer Review: Disappointing
Summary: 2 Stars

I thought this thing was going to be a lifesaver for me.

It wasn't.

I've found that every single thing I've plugged into this hub has lagged... a lot. To the point where it was less of a hassle to just use the two ports I've been given and switch things out where necessary.

I'm also not too happy with the length of the cord. Very, very short. Plug it into your computer and (unless it's a laptop) it'll just hang. If you keep your computer on the ground, don't be surprised to find pets nibbling at this thing's cord, as it'll be right in front of their faces.

Perhaps mine is defective, but the delay is ridiculous. I'm hoping this is just a fluke - I have had nothing but good experience with Belkin products up til this little thing.

Customer Review: Great portable USB 2.0 hub
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great little hub. Purchased it to go in my laptop bag but am now thinking of getting a second one to sit on my office desk. The unit has no problem powering both my 4GB Sandisk cruzer thumb drive and WD 250GB passport drive when connected to my MacBook Pro. I have not attempted to plug in more than one high-power device (read: external HDD) at a time, but it definitely has no trouble keeping up with the HDD I have. Other enclosures may draw more power than the WD Passport, which is why some people have reported that it doesn't work for them. So, your mileage may vary.

The red LED is a very favorable alternative than the piercing blue LEDs everything seems plagued with of late.

Overall, I am highly satisfied, especially for under $10.
