Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Belkin USB 2.0 4-Port Ultra-Mini Hub

Customer Review: Little gadget does the job, for the right price.
Summary: 4 Stars

The size and compactness of this hub are perfect compliments to my Mac Mini. As many of you know, the Mini has limited USB 2.0 ports (only two). This stylish item allows me to plug in the USB Audio Card gadget (see a separate review), the keyboard/mouse, the MIDI Keyboard and leaves a slot for the cable for downloading images from the camera. It sits peacefully on top of the Mini and allows for handy access for any USB plug-and-play items hook-up.

The design, with connections on four sides, rather than in a series along one side, allows USB gadgets that are wider to dock with plenty of room to spare.

My only wish would be for a slightly longer connecting wire.

Obviously, this item is also perfect for using with a laptop, especially when traveling, when you don't want to be lugging large, heavy accessories.

It's no wonder this item is #1 in sales for USB hubs, as it also priced just right, considering it's an offering from a well known, established and trusted brand.

Customer Review: Belkin Hub
Summary: 5 Stars

I am very happy with this hub as it is compact and just hides under a small shelf on the corner of by desk. It serves it purpose very well. I was not, however, happy with the 9 days that it took for this item to arrive at my location; it was ordered on 05/10/10, the shipping estimate was for delivery between 05/14/10 and 05/19/10 and the item arrived in our office on 05/19/10. Now, I realize that it did arrive within the estimated arrival time, however when the item was tracked it shows that the hub languished for 6 days in the Santa Clarita postal center until it was forwarded to the Van Nuys post office on 05/18/10 for delivery. Can someone tell me why this happened? Tracking the item shows that it was here (from 05/12/10) and ready for delivery on 05/14/10. I am not too sure that I would order anything from this ANTOnline again because of this delay. If the item was here in time for delivery of 05/14/10 it should have been released for that delivery date.

Customer Review: A handy and elegant inexpensive solution for your laptop or netbook
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this mini hub! It has a connector cable 5 inches long, so you can't make a mess. I used to have a hub that connected to the computer with a regular USB cable, but guess what? You don't want any more cables than what it is strictly necessary. You would like this mini hub. Its size is 2 x 2 x 1/2 (inches) so it fits in any of your pockets, but not too small to easily lose it. I would say a very convenient size. I use it with my laptop, and connect simultaneously my camera, mouse, and two flash drives, or alternate with an external hard drive. The silver top cover makes it look a bit "elegant". And the price? Very affordable. In addition, no software or drivers are needed, just connect it, and it works with Linux, and Windows, and even I didn't test it with a Mac, more likely it will work with them, too. Customer Review: Good Product for a Good Price
Summary: 5 Stars

I needed a USB hub for my PS3, and oddly enough this was a difficult decision.

Powered or un-powered?

Expensive or Cheap - why are the prices of these so wide spread?

There are concerns that powered ones can send power back up into the console and damage it, as well as issues of hooking too many peripherals onto it (an un-powered one) and over drawing power from the console.

I have been using this one for a few months and I think I made the right choice.

I have the PS3 with the following peripherals:

- USB Microphone (Karaoke) (Not for me I Swear!)
- Logitech GT Racing Wheel
- Eye (Web Cam & Integrated Microphone)
- External Hard Drive

With all of that how do you plug in a USB Thumb Drive or charge your controllers?

This is a simple solution that works from a legitimate company for a low price.

Customer Review: It does what it's supposed to...most of the time
Summary: 4 Stars

I keep my laptop on a riser which makes getting to the USB ports in back kind of awkward. I use a separate keyboard and a wireless mouse plus I have an iPod to charge, a blue tooth earpiece and frequently have photos to transfer to my laptop. I needed a USB hub.

I bought the Belkin and it does what it's supposed to most of the time. On occasion if I haven't used the mouse for awhile it will freeze when using the Belkin hub and I'll have to pull the piece that plugs into the hub out and put it back in. A minor inconvenience but I subtracted a star because of it.

I like how it has a short cord so the hub reaches my desk even with the laptop riser on its highest setting. Very convenient way to double the hubs on the side of my laptop.

It was packaged well and I received it within an acceptable amount of time. Overall I'm pretty pleased with this purchase.
