When it does come down to computer lovers, we are choosing to go more with laptops than desktops because of the convience of taking our work from resumes and excel portfolios on the go. But with that, we also are looking for new ways to attach our added extras for our use at home. That does come almost well with Belikn's Mini Hub which can connect as many as 4 different devices from our cable modems and printers, to scanners and colling fans for our laptops. While it does handle well for its price, it doesn't handle at all when it does come down to our MP3 Players and our Apple Ipods. While it does say it can connect to those devices on the label, it sadly doesn't. Not only can you not charge up your media players, you sadly are not able to put new media files into your MP3 Players. Instead for that note, I honestly would suggest that you choose to connect hatthose Media players directly into the computer alone. Other than that, it does handle mostly well as a noble buy for anyone whom owns a laptop computer with Belkin's USB 2.0 Mini Hub.

Belkin is known for making good products for computers and electronics, and this is no exception. This little USB hub is just perfect -- the USB ports are spaced enough so that you can fit large USB plugs into each one, and it really is plug and play. So small that I can throw it in my bookbag when I'm going somewhere and will need the extra ports, but I mainly use it at home to plug my external keyboard and USB mouse into my notebook, which is sorely lacking in ports (who thought it was a good idea to put two USB ports on a computer?!)
One small complaint, and one bigger complaint. The small one is that the "tail" that connects to the computer isn't very long. Most of my things have long cords or are cordless, so that's not a big deal, but I'd like to push the wire mess my desk has become off somewhere if possible. The bigger problem is that this USB port doesn't have a lot of power -- makes sense because it is so small, but there's not enough power to plug in my external hard drive or my USB game controllers. Everything else I use in there works just fine, and so I just plug those into the remaining port on my computer.

The Belkin 4 Ultra mini hub is a simple, cheap, and well crafted piece of hardware. Its plug and play, works well and doesn't feel cheap of flimsy.
The hub has a single USB 2.0 port on every side of its square frame, with a short wire coming out of an angled side. The short wire can either be a great deal or a horrible design flaw, depending on what your using it for. I used the hub mainly with my Wii laying flat, connecting a WiiSpeak and keyboard. The short wire is the perfect length to place the hub directly on top on my Wii (in the downward position).
On another device, however, the hub would simply hang, and could become a nuisance or help tangle wires. If placed on the back of a desktop tower, for example, the hanging hub, with its extending wires and connected usb devices, could very easily tangle with other wires. The hub does have a small red LED, so locating it in the dark is no problem.
The construction is small, yet sturdy and well designed. I've had this product for several months now, and it hasn't overheated, fried, or simply died. A great deal at the current price.

I bought this becausec my computer only has two usb 2.0 ports. I use usb products for almost all of my peripherals(e.g. keyboard, mouse, headset, printer, gamecontroller). Some of these products work on regular usb ports, but three of them, headset, keyboard, and mouse all need 2.0 ports. I bought this figuring I could use it to plug everything in. If I try to use it for the mouse it doesn,t work. So it has to be used with the keyboard. I don't know what the issue is, but if I need a new keyboard what if it won't work either? It does seem to work fine with the headset and keyboard together. The sound and voice quality are good and the keyboard is functioning great. I just wish I knew if the problem was my mouse or the adapter. It makes it hard for me to judge it. Overall, it seems to work fine for 2 out of 3 of my products. I think the connection cord it has should be longer. I don't like the way it hangs off of my computer. I think it could lead to long term damage to the port. The price was acceptable for what it does. I believe that you get what you pay for and I seem to have gotten exactly that.Customer Review: A Handy Little Gadget

I purchased this Belkin USB Ultra Mini Hub to use with my laptop, so that I could have one central place to plug in whatever I need to use, instead of using the ports on my laptop.
Iam not sure why in the product description it say you need a USB Cable, because there is a USB cable attached to the hub, and that is the part that you plug into the laptop, and then use the 4 ports for whatever you want to plug in.
I also didn't see in the package information that it is compatible with Windows 7, but it is.
I love that you just plug in this mini hub and you are good to go. I wish more products were that easy to install! There is a red light on the top that shows you it is working. I have my cooling pad plugged into the hub.
The price was excellent, and I have been purchasing Belkin Surge Protectors for years, in fact I just purchased 3 more a week ago, so I was familiar with the Belkin name.
The size is small, which is great. It does what it is supposed to do.
