Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Belkin Pivot Surge, 8 Outlets, 6ft Cord with Telephone ProtectionCustomer Review: Great desk Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for good multiple outlet device for a recharging center I built for all our rechargeable devices, e.g. cell phones, PDAs, Kindle, etc. This Belkin Pivot-Plug protector is ideal because it allows for tilting the individual outlets to accommodate those large voltage regulators that many rechargeable devices require. My recharging center was easy to make and much less expensive than the ready-made ones that I've seen. I just used a small antique cabinet that we use as a TV stand for our small kitchen TV. Inside I added thin shelves, mounted the Belkin unit at the back, drilled a hole in the back to allow the Belkin unit to be plugged in, then plugged in all our recharging units and attached the ends of each cord to a shelf. I then labeled the place on each shelf for the appropriate device and, voila! Now when something needs recharging I just open the cabinet door, plug the device in at its own place, and close the door. All the recharging takes place behind the cabinet door, out of sight. And no more fumbling in a drawer for the right recharger, plugging it in, then wrapping it up and returning it to the drawer after the device is recharged. It's a big improvement for not much money, and the Belkin Pivot-Plug Surge Protector made it possible.
Customer Review: Best. Surge Protector. Ever. Summary: 5 Stars
I first fell in love with this product in 2007 and have bought an average of two per year since. Not because they needed replacement, mind you, but rather because I seem to continually be running out of outlets. We are definitely a techie generation and if you are even slightly codependent with electronics, you will find yourself faced with the need to purchase a surge protector more than once in your life. I urge you to-every time-buy one of these. First, the price is right; they definitely deliver a product worth more than the asking price. Second, the piece has eight sockets and due to it's unique design it is easy to use all eight simultaneously. 6/8 pivot I believe 180 degrees, so no matter what kind of clunky or bulky or physically cumbersome charger I need to plug in, it will fit!
My first purchase of this surge protect was at the PX (Post Exchange for all the civilians, as was my second and third. Once I came back from Iraq and had even more devices that needed to be charged, I headed back to the PX for another and to my horror found it was no longer a stocked item. *gasp* I immediately headed to Amazon and have been ordering them here ever since.
Best. Surge Protector. Ever!
Customer Review: Everything is working good so far Summary: 5 Stars
Purchased this surge protector to hook up my 55inch vizio LED, PS3, Direc Tv DVR, and Vizio soundbar with subwoofer and so far everything is working great. Since this purchase there has been a good amount of storms and the protector hasnt had to do it magic yet so i cant say yet if it will protect everything in case of a surge but it nice to have the peace of mind. The rotating sockets are nice but i havent really needed them since everything has been plugged straight down into the protector. But its a nice size and not to bulky and i love the led light on the protector that lets you know if it actually protecting everything and still working. Plus there is another button on it that you can turn it off or on but i dont see why you would like to turn it off. It has two ethernet plugs which is really useful that a lot of protector dont have. I havent used them yet but may latter when i hard wire the internet to the Direct Tv box. Other wise it seems to be a great little protector with a nice thick gauge cord feeding out of it. I would recommend this as a protector especially with the 150000 insurance that it comes with in case it doesnt work as it should. Belkin is a trusted name and i see why.
Customer Review: Does NOT have a right angle plug! Summary: 2 Stars
I purchased this surge protector for four key features:
- right angle plug
- slim straight line (single outlet wide strip, not a double)
- pivoting outlets
- black
It does not have a right angle plug. The Technical Details and Product Description claim it has a right angle plug, and even the picture on the box the surge protector came in shows a right angle plug, but the picture above, and the picture provided by the manufacturer on their website, shows a standard outlet plug.
The pivot outlet feature is only moderately helpful.
Extremely disappointing.
If it had a right angle 45 degree offset plug, this would have been a great surge protector.
I purchased a slim straight-line (single outlet wide) unit with a right angle plug from another manufacturer.
What a shame.
Customer Review: Read before buying Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this just looking at the name (Belkin), style and protection. What I did not see till I received was the fine print.
You MUST hook all items up according Belkin. I have a cable DSL and this device does not have a cable (coaxial) adapter. In order to be covered, I must have that surge protected also. I will keep this and use for another purpose and order one with the proper connections.
Overall, good product and I would buy again. Just make sure of your connections before purchasing.
