Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Belkin Pivot Surge, 6 Outlets, Wall MountCustomer Review: doesn't have a switch Summary: 3 Stars
(1) the securing screw is made for the older style outlets and won't work for newer outlets. As I paid only $13 for this device, I didn't bother to return it. I simply removed the screw and sawed off the plastic bit, and it can be reasonably stably plugged into the wall mount without the screw.
(2) this surge protector doesn't have a switch! My initial intention was to connect all of my TV-related devices to this surge protector so that I can switch them off completely in one go without unplugging every individual device (standby mode still drains juice and my cable set-top box doesn't have a standby mode).
(3) $13 for a brand-name surge protector is not a bad deal.
Customer Review: Pivoting outlets - brilliant! Summary: 5 Stars
Wow! What a fantastic concept. It's bad enough that all my adapters have long cables, but before getting this I kept tripping over my power strip and could only use alternate outlets since adapters are too wide. I have another strip that can hold both adapters and regular cables but it's huge. Now I can plug all of them into this compact wall-mount unit with no problem (I did plug a smaller cord into the center outlet and the block adapters on top and bottom, since side by side they were a little snug). Price is great, I'll be buying another for my kitchen appliances.
Customer Review: Like the Weebles, this outlet wobbles but it doesn't fall down. Summary: 2 Stars
Functionally, this surge protector works just as it should. You can easily plug into this surge protector, which is a definite plus. Also, the outlets do move. I thought this would be perfect for my house to keep my pets safe.
What I *didn't* know about this surge protector though is that it's wobbly. There is only one screw on the front and, while that holds it up to the wall, there really needs to be another three-pronged outlet to insert into the wall outlet. That would make it much more stable and me much happier with the product!
Customer Review: It works. Swivel plugs are nice Summary: 5 Stars
I don't think I can add much more that what has already been written
- works and works well
- swivel plugs are very nice and useful
CON:
- the screw is designed to screw onto a center screw on wall plate -- old design. The newer wall plugs do not have central screws. But the screw comes off easy enough.
- Fix around: I used double side adhesive to secure the plug to plate.
Bottom Line: $12-15 is a good price for your electronics' health insurance.
Customer Review: Versatility Plus Summary: 5 Stars
I bought 3 of these to use around the house. My wife wanted one to plug in her curling iron, hair dryer, and other equipment. I also put one in the kitchen for the satelite, tv, etc. So far, no problems at all. I like the versatility of the plugs ability to move out for transformer plugs.
I would recommend these and hope like me, you never need to test the surge part of the unit.
