Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Belkin Pivot Surge, 6 Outlets, Wall MountCustomer Review: Perfect solution!! Summary: 5 Stars
I did quite a bit of research on a wall outlet expander prior to buying this one. I also returned the first couple of models that I bought because of their flimsy quality. The features I was looking for were 1) it stays securely in the wall outlet 2) plenty of space between sockets 3) ability to plug multiple three prong plugs in and 4) surge protection. This Belkin six outlet expander met all requirements, and did so perfectly. Excellent build quality (feels very sturdy/substantial, plug stays firmly in place with both a screw in option and by using both outlets in the wall, and I can plug multiple large plugs in with no issues at all (all six outlets swivel to create additional space, though I did not need that feature to have my plugs fit easily). Awesome product. I usually don't take time to write reviews, but this fit the bill so perfectly that I wanted to share. If it helps, I have the following devices plugged in now; 1) iPad (and this plug is a monster) 2) iPhone (also bulky) 3) three prong plug for my HP laptop 4) alarm clock 5) three prong plug for fan. The sheer weight of these plugs would make most adapters unstable, but even without the screw, this one stays firmly on the wall.
I have no hesitation to recommend this to others, and i plan on using this as a stocking stuffer this coming Xmas because it's so good.
Customer Review: Compact design covers wall outlet Summary: 4 Stars
I originally bought the wall mounted version to use with my media center in the living room. This was additional power for an always-on HTPC and hard drive, as most of my devices are already plugged into a Belkin Conserve Switch F7C01110q AV Energy-Saving AV Surge with Remote.
When I unboxed this new power strip, I realized it would not work for this application. The wall mount design completely covers the wall outlet: plugging into the top outlet with an additional plastic piece to anchor it in the bottom outlet and a screw to hold it to the wall. I didn't like the idea of plugging one power strip into another, so I used a different one I had on hand for the living room.
However, I found that this was the perfect model to use in my kitchen. We have a small apartment kitchen and our counter that holds a microwave, toaster oven, and portable dishwasher only has one two-plugged outlet. We had been leaving the dishwasher plugged in and swapping the plugs for the toaster and microwave as needed. The lack of cord and swivel outlets on this model means that it does not waste additional space on my counter top and all the plugs fit easily without crowding.
Customer Review: Smaller in size, yet still accomodates larger transformer plugs Summary: 5 Stars
My husband and I purchased this surge protector for our kitchen, where it lives just above my built-in desk. We needed something that would permanently house the plugs for our cordless phone and answering machine yet also be available for recharging our cell phones, iPod, and my netbook computer. This unit has served our purpose well. The six plugs are spaced far enough apart to accommodate most larger transformer plugs without difficult; the fact that each plug swivels from the front to the side makes it even easier to arrange your devices as needed. The only downside that I have found to this product is that it does feel slightly unstable: there is only a single screw which connects the unit to the wall outlet, and so it does wobble a bit. However, I have not found this to be a major problem; I have simply gotten into the habit of stabilizing the unit with one hand as I put the plug in or out with the other. Overall, I would give this surge protector a rating of 4 1/2 stars, and I would definitely recommend it.
Customer Review: Where are the specs? Summary: 2 Stars
Amazon has a boat-load of surge protectors here; yet they inform you of everything, but the surge capability. Who cares how long the chord is and how many plugs it can take, if it does not list the Joule rating and clamping times. I am no expert; but at least I would like some specs on the "surge suppression" not the chord length and color, or number of lights, etc. The prices look decent, and the selection is very good; but what am I getting? Another thing Amazon does with their adds, is they leave the price off many of there ads; until you dig three pages deep into the promo. I would be more likely to buy, if I could compare, without loading each and every item on the screen. This page does not have that problem, but many others do; such as the ten hot deals for electronics, I get E-mailed. I delete them, because it takes way too much time, to price compare each item listed. I have wasted enough time looking for specs here, on this item. Prices and selection look good.
Customer Review: Convenient and a space saver Summary: 5 Stars
I live in an old house, and my bedroom is small; 11' x 11'. So every little bit of space that I can save is welcomed. I have this plugged into an outlet that's behind my dresser. I can now plug in the wall mounted TV, the little home theater PC, and small speakers without having the dresser stick out 4-5" from the wall, because the sockets rotate to the side.
I really like the convenience of this surge protector with its ability to rotate individual sockets. There are other similar surge protectors on the market, but they rotate all three sockets in a block.
If you need to conserve space and still protect your electrical items, I highly recommend that you pick up this surge protector.
