Great device...charges usb devices and allows you to plug other devices in. I keep one in my bag for on the go....
I used to carry 2 phone chargers for usb...now I just plug one usb cable into the usb slot and it charges both of my devices. This actually saved space in my BAG...unheard of.
Awesome device...and a name like belkin behind it means you can rest assured your power is clean and your devices protected.

As everyone else has noted, the biggest problem is that it is a little too big. If they could find a way to scale it down a little bit, it would be nearly perfect. One other minor downside is that the USB port cannot be used to charge PS3 controllers, but it seems to charge everything else I have tried on it.
Still, it does waht I want it to do and is a good value. I can get multiple outlets with surge protection when I travel, and not have to hunt for extra outlets. I also don't need to carry around my USB A/C adapter. All I need is the 5-in-1 USB cable that lets me charge my iPod Touch, my DS, and my GPS.

I bought this to charge my cell phone when traveling...and thought it would be handy to also plug in the camera battery charger. When I tried to charge my Motorola cell phone, the phone gave an "unrecognized charger" error and refused to charge. After contacting Belkin support, I was issued an RMA and sent a replacement charger, which has the exact same problem. After doing some research I find that this and some other USB chargers do not give enough power to charge CDMA phones, which makes it useless for my purposes. Tech support from Belkin has been SLOW at best. Still trying to resolve this issue with Belkin...after 5 weeks!Customer Review: Works great, could be more compact

My only complaint is this item could be a little more compact.
DO NOT throw the prong cover that initially comes attached to the surge protector prong. As the manual states (for those who still care to read the User Manual these days), you can use this plastic prong cover to help further balance the device against any surface. You do this by inserting the plastic prong cover on the bottom of the surge device via a small notch. Also, the plastic cover is handy to use when traveling. Before dumping the surge protector along with your other devices, cover the prongs to prevent it from scratching other objects.

I bought this product because I'm a gadget freak, and many gadgets can be powered over USB. I planned on using one USB port for an iPod cable and the other with a USB-mini cable, mainly to charge my iPhone and G1. The extra 3 outlets were a nice extra.
However, the first time I plugged in the Mini Surge and attached my iPhone and G1, the iPhone started power cycling without end. I tried plugging in one first and then the other, and vice-versa, but it would always make the iPhone freak out. So pretty much, you can't use both USB ports at the same time, which completely removes any benefit I wanted from this.
