This product sounded like the ideal solution for charging multiple items when traveling. I was surprised and disappointed when I discovered it was not possible to charge two iPhones at the same time. After a lengthy discussion with a Belkin representative (Very difficult to understand due to limited English skills and satellite connection)I was informed that the unit was working properly but insufficient power was available, through the USB ports, to charge both iPhones at the same time. We've had two of these for about a year, and I'm ordering a third. We take them with us when we travel to give us additional outlets for charging cameras, phones, iPods, etc. At any given time, we usually have one plugged in charging two iPods or phones (via the USB outlets). I leave one at work, and carry one with me everywhere, so I never run out of outlets to charge the laptop, phone, camera, ipod, etc. It has a solid, well-built feel to it, and I haven't seen anything else as compact and attractive.Customer Review: USB Ports Won't Charge Two iPhones

I bought this in the hope of reducing the number of items in my travel bag. With two iPhones and several iPods in the family, I am always taking several adapters, splitters, etc. along.
This is an okay unit, but note that it will not charge two iPhones at the same time via the USB ports, or even one iPhone and one iPod. (Two iPod minis seem to work fine.) You can obviously plug the second iPhone in via the 120v outlets, but that kind of defeats the value of the dual USB ports.

as others have expressed, this surge protector is definitely NOT mini, but it's still good for popping in my laptop bag for traveling. also, as others have also stated, you CANNOT charge two iphones simultaneously. why the hell not? hence my 4 v 5 stars. if you have two usb ports, why would you not make it to charge two iphones at the same time? sillyness! they also could've made the unit smaller too. if they'd have fixed these two issues, it would've earned 5 stars, instead of 4.Customer Review: Products Look Identical

For those of you who might be confused between this product and, what looks like an identical product, Belkin Mini Surge Protector Dual USB Charger, there IS NO DIFFERENCE (except the price). These products are identical. I called Belkin to find out and the only difference is the packaging. Very weird and bad customer service by both Amazon and Belkin not to identify any differences.
