Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Belkin High-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Mobile HubCustomer Review: High amperage awesomely rocks Summary: 5 Stars
I have three Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 1 TB USB 2.0 Ultra-Portable External Hard Drive STAA1000100 (Black)and a Seagate FreeAgent Go 250 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive ST902503FAA2E1-RK (Black). I had been looking for a while for a powered router that would power all of them up at the same time and this one was it. All four running at the same time. It was awesome. 4 amps were of power.
Customer Review: Usable to some extent only, keeps on auto disconnecting Summary: 3 Stars
As said in many other reviews, it cannot sustain all hubs occupied, drops connections from all ports automatically, despite the AC power being ON, (I guess the AC Adapter or it's connection port is malfunctioning). Its been a year now, and it still has a lot to ask for.
Pros: Charges devices like Iphone etc but that is only after you connect them with Laptop on, and then if you turn laptop off, it keeps on charging, cannot act like an independent charger.
I wont throw it away but wont buy another like it!
Customer Review: Terrible. I hate using this. Summary: 1 Stars
I have had this for a few months now. I bought it from Target for 30 dollars, I think. I'm still using it, and it's my first USB hub. I hate this thing. It won't power my portable HD at all. It's very flimsy. It won't let me use any 2 ports that are pointing toward each other. After the first week or two of use, I kept getting the message, "Your USB device could perform faster..." I now wish I would of gotten another product. I also don't like my Belkin laptop cooling mat. I am never buying another product from Belkin ever again.
Customer Review: Small, efficient port layout, works well Summary: 4 Stars
I didn't have enough USB ports on my computer (does anyone?) and after looking at a bunch of hubs, picked this one, because Belkin products are, in my experience, of excellent quality and 4 ports weren't enough; I needed 7.
Like everyone else I find the cord length ridiculously short, and the hub is light enough that one needs to be careful that it doesn't skate off the desktop, but it functions perfectly, doesn't take up much space, and is attractive. If the cord were longer I would give it 5 stars rather than 4.
Customer Review: Great product! Works as Promised! Summary: 5 Stars
I've been using this USB hub for almost a year now and have zero complaints. It's the first USB hub I've used so I was a little worried - but I would recommend it to anyone needing a few extra ports. I'm using it with a titanium MacBook to connect to 2 hard drives, a camera, iphone cable, and the occasional thumbdrive. Set up was easy and I haven't noticed any issues with speed in transferring data. Based on my experience, this is a great option for expanding on the limited number of USB ports available on MacBooks.
