Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Belkin High-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Mobile HubCustomer Review: It sucks and is not assembled well. Not worth my 20 dollars. Summary: 1 Stars
It worked OK for the first two weeks, but today when I started my computer, it told me "Your USB device could perform faster...", which never happened. When I then toughed the hub to see what happened, I found it quite loose and not assembled well, while Windows suddenly poped up some terrifying dialog saying "Your disk M: must be formatted before use". OMG! It is so unstable, and I am pretty sure the devices were not disconnected! I was scared and quickly unplugged my USB disks. Now I plugin them again and it works OK, but I have convinced myself that I could never tough the hub again, otherwise the same thing would happen!
It happened again today! All my external disks were disconnected all of a sudden, and the data were lost!! Shame of you who gave it 5 stars and I will never believe amazon and its comments.
Customer Review: Poor quality from Belkin. look elsewhere. Summary: 1 Stars
I've been using the hub for 2 months.
The cord is way too short but a 3' extension cord allowed me to connect it to my surge protector.
I've connected 3 external HDDs, 1 printer & 1 scanner to the hub. They stay connected most of the time.
Would I recommend this to a friend? Never! After 2 months, I gave up and threw it in the gargabe.
I was backuping up 500GB to my external drive when I got a disconnect prompt half way thru.
This not the firt time I've gotten disconnected.
Having to jingle the usb cord to reconnect is also unaccaptable. This hub sits on a wall shelf and the wires don't move.
I went back to the 4 port hub on my Gateway monitor.
(I just don't like the location of the ports: 2 on the side & 2 underneath the monitor. I wish they were on the back.)
Customer Review: Fantastic . . . if your computer is on the floor. Summary: 4 Stars
The AC adapter for this hub is ridiculously short. The cord itself is roughly 32". I had to plug in an extra surge protector and place it on my desk just to power the damn thing. Someone else mentioned that it is very lightweight which makes it difficult to quickly plug things in with one hand. The weight issue also makes it more prone to twist around and slide away from you. But, aside from these minor issues, this is a great product. Haven't had any problems with its performance. It is nice to have something small and fairly portable with this many ports. As a graphic designer I use a lot of peripherals, and this product handles them all with ease. And, you'd be hard pressed to beat the price. I definitely recommend this for anyone who needs a lot more usb ports and doesn't plan on powering them on the go.

I thought...if I spend more money, I would get a better product. I was wrong. First of all, the outlook doesn't look the same, if you also expected the black-glare look. It's see through plastic. doesn't look that good as the picture. Also, it's very slow to recognize USBs, so it takes some time to be recognized. You don't need an extra power cord (I couldn't find this information so I guess this is useful for you), but there is also a A/C power in the package. One thing, though, when I opened the package, the A/C power adapter was definitely a used one!!!! whilte residue and it's not a new product at all! Returning process made me just keep it as I wouldn't need to use the adapter anyways, but it was something disappointing. Conclusion, I think you don't need to pay more money on this type of product.
Customer Review: Not worth the trouble Summary: 1 Stars
I have owned 2 of these hubs, and the second just died. All I needed a hub for was to bring my mouse/keyboard transmitter within range of the devices. Since the choice at the local office supply store was between this or a Hello Kitty version, I opted for the Belkin. Looks good, simple install. Plugged the power supply into the battery backup, just in case. Everything worked fine for about a month, then lost power. Since the transmitter won't work without a power supply, the hub was useless for my purposes. Back to the store, still stuck with the same model. Hoped it was just a fluke. Nope, I made it 2 months this time, but this time there is no response. There was no extra/excessive load, no abuse, nothing to cause a fail on my part. It's a shame Belkin focused more on form than function.
