Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Lighted Hub

Customer Review: yet another 5 stars review.
Summary: 5 Stars

Pros: Small, very bright blue led light, can work with or without the power cable (only needed if the device you plug need extra power, like an external hard drive). I have use it with the 7 ports and no problems at all.

the only flaw: its too light weight; although that is good for portability, its not good if the cables keep moving it around or lifting it, but that is a minor detail.
If you think the led light could be too bright for you, try this Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Mobile Hub F5U701-BLK, its the same but without the led.

Customer Review: Too Bright and Power Connection falls out
Summary: 1 Stars

This was a waste of money for me. First, the 2 LEDs are so bright, if you sleep in the same room you'll need to cover it up unless you like a really bright night light. I mean, these things are BRIGHT! A simple switch could have solved that problem.

Second, the AC power cord is ALWAYS falling out, where the AC plugs in the back. I mean, it's just sitting on my desk, no movement and all of sudden I get pop-ups that all my USB devices have been removed improperly. I press on the AC cord, and they all come back. Ridiculously.

A total waste of money. Belkin usually makes quality stuff but this thing is a dog.

Customer Review: Nice Hub - Bright
Summary: 5 Stars

Have had this plastic cased hub for about two months now and it's still working as well as the ports on the computer - but more convenient. Comes with a power supply, although it appears it's only needed if you want the hub lit even when the computer is off. Mine works fine on just USB power with only one drive installed, and I don't want the dual blue LEDs on top lit all the time as they are very bright, like light up the room bright. Also the ports may be too close to install 4 drives simultaneously. My attitude is - the brighter the better - and I only have two thumb drives, so I'd definitely buy this hub again.

Customer Review: Works as expected but really bright
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a functional USB hub that's worked for great for me over the past 18 months I've used it. It's been in use daily during this time and has never had any issues. While it feels pretty cheap, as long as you're not packing it around constantly, it should continue to function for a long time. The main draw back are its two really bright blue LEDs. If you're planning on using this near a computer used for watching films are playing games, the lights will prove annoying.

PROS:
Inexpensive
7 ports
Has worked flawlessly for 18 months

CONS:
Really bright LEDs

Customer Review: Tiny and Handy!
Summary: 5 Stars

I had no idea this was going to be so small--and that is a great bonus! Sometimes you have to carry every little thing around with you, in those cases, the smaller the better, and this is slightly smaller than my Blackberry.
Although I have not used all plugs at the same time, I have not had a problem with any of the plugs I've used and i have used up to 4 USB's at once so far without having to use external power.
I have an older I0GEAR that I have had no issues with, but this is just cooler, trimmer and way less clunky.
I might be in the minority here, but I love the blue lights too!
