This is a nice item to have to aid computing at home, though some reviewers here seem to take it everywhere!
However, it works or functions differently with my two laptops: I have an HP 12" with an AMD processor and there is not enough air circulation, so the laptop seems to overheat.
Today I got the wedge shapped: Belkin F8N044-BRN CushTop Notebook Stand - Chocolate w/ Blue, which inspired me to read the reviews here and to compare my experience.
The differences in the records for heat are very signficant. I use two programs, PC Wizard 2008 and SpeedFan (google!) to indicate heat and processor use.
My Toshiba Sattelite does not overheat, or its temperature doesn't change much using this case, so some people's experience may be similar to this.
However, I also have an Amazon purchased: Belkin F8N042-SLV SleeveTop Notebook PC Case - Silver, and sometimes it is nice to get way from the bulkiness of the Pockettop, with the similar but different SleeveTop.
