After purchasing several other adapters in an attempt to set up a network between a PC and TIVO, I finally found one that worked. This adapter allows TIVO, via a USB port, to connect to a PC via a LAN port, and hence to download program viewing information via ethernet as opposed to via a telephone jack. Further, it allowed me to play music from my computer in my living room over the speakers connected to my TIVO.Customer Review: Great device with great service from Amazon

After I bought a 50ft ethernet cord and discovered that the ethernet port on my old desktop was blown out, I searched and discovered this adapter. The adapter works very well and is perfect if you don't have an ethernet port or if it blew out. Even more impressive, I ordered it yesterday with just the standard 3-day shipping, and it came in this morning. And network my Tivo I did. It worked right out the box without any problems at all - Tivo recognized it immediately.
Would have got 5 stars, but I do feel that the price point for this "brand" device is excessive now that USB is a very mature technology.
Incidentally, I bought a $6 + $2 shipping non-branded device from ebay which works perfectly with a colleague's Tivo.

Purchased this item due to some compatibility issues with my network card and my office. It does the job but there are no drivers for windows vista. /basically that means either constantly plugging and unplugging ny ethernet ord fom this to my ethernet lan on my comp or have two access points in use at all times.
It doesthe job but would it hurt to have drivers for Vista?

I dreaded having to replace a blown Ethernet adapter in our laptop. Then I found this one, plugged it in and we were back in business without having to crack the laptop case or reconfigure a card. We didn't notice any speed difference on our home net. The cable plug to the router is high quality, not like those easily broken plastic clips used on some of these. A keeper.
