Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Belkin BZ103050vTVL Mini Surge Protector/Dual USB ChargerCustomer Review: Convenience Receptacle Summary: 4 StarsServes the purpose when you want to charge or power several items from a receptacle with less than convenient access. The unit rotates to accomodate easy access. Plugging into the unit is a bit stiff but once pluged in they are very secure and are not at all loose or sloppy.
Customer Review: Good Travel Companion Summary: 4 StarsThis is a good travel accessory. I plop it in my laptop bag when I travel. It comes in handy at airports when space is tight. You plug it in and you can charge multiple products at once. No space in any plug? Ask someone to unplug for 10 seconds and add 3 plugs and 2 USB connections instantly.
I took this to Europe recently with some adapters and it worked great to charge 2 iPhones and a laptop in multiple countries.
It is bigger than you think it will be, but to get 3 plugs and 2 USB connections, it needs to be KINDA big. Not too big for a laptop side compartment.
Good value, great convenience!
Customer Review: Perfect for travel Summary: 5 StarsThis surge protector has become one of my must-pack items when I travel. When in groups, it's great to have spare outlets to charge everyone's phones in a tiny hotel, as well as USB slots for your ipod and anything else that you have an adapter to. I personally use this surge protector to charge my laptop, my camera's battery through the regular plugs, and then through the USB I charge my phone and ipod.
As many people know, sometimes you just can't bring yourself to trust the wall plug. With several hundred dollars at stake, and priceless amounts of information stored on each, you'll really want to have the surge protector there to protect you.
My main complaint about this unit is that the plug adapter sticks out way too far from the main body, which makes it liable to sometimes hang out threateningly away from the wall when I have everything plugged in. I usually have to ball up some paper underneath to keep it from drooping at an angle, or pile the bible and some magazines under it so it can sit there.
If you don't mind being a little resourceful when you install it, I think that this is a nice portable unit to carry with you. With the added USB ports to the side, it definitely has an edge over the regular power surge bars, and its small form factor means you can easily throw it into your suit case or carry on and not worry about it until later.
Customer Review: Road Warrior's Helper Summary: 5 StarsI travel at least once a month and take a few electronic devices with me - netbook, laptop (work), cell phone, iphone, and blackberry. This surge simplys my power needs combined with a iGO USB cable and various tips + usb to mini usb cable. The rotating plug makes install a breeze in tight places. I looked at a simular Staples brand one - but it lacked the rotating plug. I recommend this for travelers!
Customer Review: Won't Charge Blackberry Summary: 1 StarsWill not charge my Blackberry 8330 even with nothing else plugged into it, even though the device packaging says it will charge Blackberry devices.
Works okay for just a small travel surge protector.
