Belkin is a classy company indeed. I am frequently plugging and unplugging my laptop from this cable and the tab that keeps the wire in the R-45 jack broke off after about 6 months of heavy use. Went to their website, put a claim in and they mailed me out a new one the next day, no questions asked. Sweet.
UPDATE 8/08 Belkin now makes a 50FT CAT6 Black Patch Cable Snagless RJ45M/RJ45M that is better made, transmits data faster and supports 1000 MBps networks and probably best of all is cheaper.

The cord was purchased on Amazon and came in Belkin packaging-so I am assuming it is real Belkin equipment. I have always bought Belkin because I think the quality is decent for the price. All I can say is that this cable is really slow. it slows down the speed of my computer. I was using a 25 foot cord which one of the plugs broke and that is much quicker than this one. There is no difference in the speed of my 6 foot to 25 foot cords, but this cord is just slow. That is why I put the rating at 3. If you do not care aout speed then the cord is fine.Customer Review: Buy it for less through Amazon.com instead of the Compusa store

This is a good product that does what it is suppossed to do. And being 50 feet long, it is a great buy compared to the 25 foot version. However, if you buy this from the Compusa store on Amazon, it costs (...)If you do a search for the same product on Amazon.com, instead of Compusa, it costs (...), over (...)dollars cheaper. I don't know if Amazon or Compusa realize this, but you should, because you save money buying the same exact product on Amazon. I bought it through Amazon.com, and not the Compusa store on Amazon. I have been using Belkin Cat5 cables for a long time.
They come with a stamp and specs on the wire and the connectors have a Belkin logo embedded in them.
The one i received does not have the Belkin name anywhere on the wire and the connectors.
Sure its a fake.
If i had to buy any Cat5e i could have spent only $10 including shipping.
May be this fake cable works good, but the seller should not deceive people by saying its a Belkin cable.
Buyer beware.

I really was amazed at this product. From the time I used it, it worked great. I needed that extra length so I could use my Laptop in another room. Call my indoor office from my shop. I just plugged it into my ethernet box from my main computer and pluged it into my laptop ethernet plug and BOOM, it worked great. I am well satisfied with it. Thank you Amazon for helping me out. Price was very good.
