Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Belkin 4-Port Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Mobile Hub (F5U404-BLK)

Customer Review: Extend your USB's!
Summary: 5 Stars

Bought this port to extend my USB ports to the desk instead of reaching to where my computer is currently placed. It comes with a very long USB cord, but the power cord is much shorter than the USB cord. So your power outlet needs to be close to where you are placing your hub or you will not be able to power it. You only need to have the hub powered though if you are using a portable hard drive or something of that power pull.

Customer Review: Hasn't annoyed me yet!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for my husband, a software engineer and asked him for a review:

"It hasn't annoyed me yet, so it must be good." was his reply!

For my part, I liked the compact design which takes up very little space on the already cluttered worktable and it will be easy to slip into his computer case for traveling.

Price was great. No complaints on any aspect of this purchase!

Customer Review: Works well enough
Summary: 4 Stars

Bought this because I only had one USB port left available on the back of my CPU plus the one in front, which never seemed to work too well. The Belkin 4 port now sits on my desk so I have easy access to 4 more USB ports, but I also find that I sometimes have trouble with a port not working on the first try, which is the same problem I had with the port on the front of my CPU. It works well enough for the price.

Customer Review: just not what i needed
Summary: 3 Stars

It's a nice USB Hub, but isn't strong enough for what I needed it for. I have a MacBook Air, with the 1 USB port & i wanted a hub that would work with my external hard drive (640 gb) & the SuperDrive, but it just doesn't have enough power for my SuperDrive. Although it does work with my external hard drive & my iPod, which my previous hub (also a powered Belkin hub) did not. Too bad this will have to go back! ):

Customer Review: Doesn't Stay Connected!
Summary: 1 Stars

This seems to work fine, but it won't stay connected! I'm running XP SP 2 and it will disconnect and then reconnect, momentarily making my USB mouse and keyboard that is plugged into it un-usable. Worse, sometimes it won't reconnect and it says, "USB Device Not Recognized". Since there isn't any drivers at all that come with it since it's plug and play, I don't even know where to begin with this problem.
