I received this USB hub a few weeks ago. The reason I needed it was that my Canon ImageClass multi-function printer was hogging all the USB voltage (or is it wattage?). When I would plug in a flash drive, my computer could not recognize or read it till I turned off the printer. This USB hub is a powered unit, meaning you can plug it into an electrical outlet, taking care of any USB power shortages. I plugged the printer's USB into this, and everything works great now.
One problem I had when shopping was understanding what size this hub is. The dimensions shown on Amazon apparently are the package dimensions. The actual hub is 3"L x 1.25"W x 0.5"D. The plastic material is a bit creaky, but it's away under my desk, doing all I need it to do!

First of the power cable for this device fits loosely and is easy to unplug itself. Which might not have been an issue if the cord was longer then 2 feet. Also the power cable that came with mine makes a very annoying high pitched noise depending on what devices are plugged in to it. The light weight portable design is a hindrance for a desktop scenario as it is prone to sliding off tables if you use any of the back usb plugs. It is given that I should have considered some of this in the purchasing process... However, sometimes these things don't occur to you till you have the device in your hands. I'd only recommend buying this if you don't need to power usb devices in say a traveling laptop scenario.Customer Review: Save your money!

I bought this product to give me 4 additional USB ports. However the spacing of the ports on this unit are too close together to use more than 2 ports at a time. So you only actully end up with one extra port after you use the one on your computer to plug the unit in. Also none of the plugs for the power, USB cord to the computer, or USB devices fully seat. There also is no power indicator light. There are much better producst out there for the money, The only good thing I have to say about this product is that is is small - too small - which of course is why it does not function as it is advertised - a 4 port USB hub.Customer Review: Works fine; would purchase again

This USB hub works just fine. I have not had any problems with this hub working with my HP desktop (Vista) and various peripherals. These peripherals that have worked fine with this hub include a Canon scanner, a SanDisk MP3 player, and a SanDisk flash drive.
This hub is small and lightweight. I guess this could be considered a plus or a minus depending upon your perspective. The black case does give it a sharp modern look in my opinion.
After using this regularly for a few weeks, I would gladly purchase this item again if I were to have the need.

I love good bargains and this 4 port USB hub is awesome. Comes with a usb 2 cable, nice length, and a power cord. I have two external hard drive hooked up thru this hub and works great. Speed is not bad. Just plug and play (OSX 10.4.X) and no worries. FYI I bought it at Fry's for abit more, Amazon has a good price on this.)
