This item was exactly as described and works just like it is designed to. It's only 3' which limits how far away from the computer you can sit the video camera. But this length was perfect for me, that's why I went with this size. The transfer is is great and easy, my computer detected it immediately and gave me options for transferring. I had ordered a cheaper cable on eBay and it did not work with my Sony Camcorder even though the product specifications said it would. I was sent a cable that was different from the picture of the one I ordered. Not good and I returned it.
This cable worked flawlessly. I connected the cable to my computer, then to my Sony Digital 8, TRV 460, turned the camera on, and it worked immediately. I'm very pleased.

I bought this cable in order to replace my broken one. My old one was six feet long and so stiff that after only 2 months of use it ceased to function. This cable in the instances that I used it so far has worked perfectly with great picture and easy connectivity. This Belkin cable did not fit snugly in either my new SONY HDR-FX1000 camcorder or my older SONY Vaio notebook computer. Consequently the connection failed 9 times out of 10 attempts. Initially I thought the new camcorder was delivered with a defective iLink terminal. But when the genuine SONY 4 pin iLink cable arrived from Amazon, the video transfers worked reliably from the start. Live and learn!

I always research before I purchase a product. Once I found out the correct pin count on the cable it was time to research the best price. I could of gone to Best Buy for $35.00, but not being in a hurry to make this purchase, I researched the best price and found it here on Amazon saving about $24.00.
