I bought this product to ensure plug my digital canon handicam to the laptop - which i had bought new.
I tried this product since my laptop has a 1394 pin available. The cable which i got was perfect in length, fitted fine and worked perfect. The data transmission was smooth and I was able to transmit data and burn a cd out of that.
Previously i had bought a firewire 6-6 pin and PCMCIA firewire adapter for my previous laptop, and that had not worked as smooth as I had planned, The transmission would break ever few seconds, and image would pause. So this current purchase turned out to be fine.
Also I had asked for expediated delivery, and the delivery was done as per the schedule, nicely packed. Overall very satisfactory experience. (Delivery was in US only)

I was bit confused after reading negative reviews. I received the product and oooh..it is the best..for 9 buck who would give this cable for you?. The build quality the superb. IT records my video beautifully(though i used for a day only) ..I have not got any problem with this. I believe that this is original belkin. I don't care if it is not. Another thing is I checked this cable in local radio shack ($33) and that also did not have belkin name on the cable. Do not worry about whether this is belkin or not. Amazon can not sell duplicate Belkin product so public. The product description does not match with the item shipped. Nowhere in the item received does it say that it is made by Belkin; and the cable was 2 meters (approx 6 feet) long and not 3 feet as stated in the description. If my statements/observations/comments are incorrect, I want ClearAV to correct me - I stand to be corrected. However, at the moment, I am disappointed at what I believe to be deception. I want a properly labeled and functioning Belkin product. (I am yet to try the product... which I may not do until I am convinced that what I have got is what I ordered).Customer Review: It Works

I got this firewire cable to connect my Sony Handycam to my brand new HP Touchsmart. Previously I had used a USB connection to connect to my HP Pavilion to the same camera. Also the drivers for the Handycam have been updated and I downloaded them. In any event, the firewire cable works just fine, thank you. I'm not sure if it's the firewire connection, the new driver software or the new computer, but the quality of the video I burned to DVD was far superior to what I'd gotten before with the old USB connection. I can highly recommend this firewire cable. It works.Customer Review: bad cable!!

I just got a brand new Sony mini DV camera... and I used this cable... it recognize the camera very fast... however... when I was going to transfer the video it just did not worked very well... the video was choppy and the audio was terrible (slow motion audio) I thought it was the camera but when I re-play the video using the camera the video looks just fine!! so it is not the camera or the DV Cassette... I got 2 GB of Ram in my computer! so it cannot be that either!! the only option that I can think its the cable... its not working properly!
