Customer Review: Doesn't look like the picture, but a functional bag

First things first - the picture is a bit misleading. I purchased the dove/peony one, thinking that it would be a light off-white color with bright light pink accents. When I opened it, I was like "Oh THIS is dove(?)!" By dove they don't mean dove white; they mean grey, really. The pink is slightly darker than the picture, but the dove is WAY darker. It's a darkish grey color. I added a customer picture above so you can see what I'm talking about. I think the chocolate/tourmaline one would've been more attractive (if it looks like the picture of course!), but actually the dove/grey complements the silvery pink of my computer as well as most of my accessories (they're all in various shades of pink...shoot me I'm a girl) so I think I'll keep it.
I bought this to carry my 13.3" Sony VAIO SR and the assorted accessories to go with it (wireless mouse, external HDD, cords for all of these things, maybe a book or two and my Nintendo DS), especially when I go through airport security to make it easier to take out of my bag. This bag DEFINITELY has plenty of room do do all of those things with. The bag is made for a 15.4" laptop but the inside is padded, so even though mine will slide a few inches it's still be secure (plus I could fit my laptop in its neoprene case in there if I wanted to). There's also a large pocket in there that I could fit a paperback book or two (or an e-reader), a big pocket attached to the notebook pocket, a bunch of smaller pockets of various sizes in which you can put pens, your external HDD (or several), a relatively large outer zipper pocket, a smaller but deep sideways outer pocket, and a velcro pocket in the back. I think I might have trouble filling this thing.
I put my laptop in it and put it on my shoulder. Unlike a lot of messenger bags, the strap on this one is thick and designed to distribute the weight of a laptop across your shoulders more evenly, so it doesn't feel like it'll hurt to carry my 4-lb. laptop around all day. There's also a handle on top that you can carry it by if you want to carry it in your hand.
Some things that would improve: if the strap were removable, although you can probably fold it up and put it in the velcro pouch in the back (I just tried it - the pouch is a little hard to close but for all intents it works) and if there was a little more padding in the strap (it's wide but has no padding, so I can imagine it wearing on my shoulder after some hours - but it would take a while.)
I'll come back and update once I've owned it a while.
