Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Belkin 12-Outlet Home/Office Surge Protector with Phone/Ethernet/Coaxial Protection and Extended CordCustomer Review: Belkin 12 - outlet Surge Protector Summary: 4 Stars
Once the product arrived I untangled the mess of power cords I had under my computer desk. I have used other belkin surge protectors in my office and have been satisfied with them. This was a factor in deciding to purchase this one. I really like the surge protector's number of outlets and the order they are arranged. However I believe the manufacturer could improve the mounting holes it has on the bottom for mounting the device on the wall. This is a bit challenging under a desk. I would like to see the mounting holes moved farther apart or extended to where they protrude on the ends and one could just screw it to the wall. At the very least the manufacturer could provide a sheet with the mounting hole pattern for placement. The product has worked very well. The small power transformers that I have plugged in have not become disconnected or fallen out with the protector wall mounted. I would choose this product again.
Customer Review: Great surge protector with one small issue Summary: 5 Stars
I'm currently using this surge protector for my computer room in my apartment, and it has enough outlets for two Xbox 360s, two monitors, two pairs of speakers, two PCs, a battery charger, printer, network switch, and I've still got an open outlet. Prior to this, I was using a 7 outlet surge protector, also from Belkin, and was constantly switching plugs. I need to play Xbox with a friend, well, I guess I don't need the printer right now. Wait, actually I do, let me switch to headphones for a bit and unplug my speakers. Dang, that was the network. Guess we'll have to start that level over.
The only problem I've seen with this surge protector is that unplugging devices has popped out the sliders that block the outlets. They pop back in fairly easily, but I'm sure I'm going to lose them before too long. I guess the good thing is that I don't need to plug and unplug nearly as often anymore.
Customer Review: Works well without any problems Summary: 5 Stars
This surge protector is superior to the standard linear surge protector because it can handle the bulky AC adapters.
For a long time, the main problem with the standard linear surge protector has been its inability to accommodate the bulky plastic AC adapters without taking up 2-3 spots. This surge protector will accommodate AC adapters of all sizes.
I live in Los Angeles where there are very few lightning strikes so surge protection wasn't a high priority. I bought this surge protector, however, to replace two standard linear surge protectors and it did that fantastically well.
I have two computers, monitor, printer, DSL modem, Wireless Router, PS3, USB hub, and desk lamp all plugged into this surge protector and it accommodated them all and had 4 extra outlets left.
Now, the clutter below my desk is MUCH better organized.
Customer Review: Best Surge Protector Summary: 5 Stars
When my new HDTV arrived, I realized I had forgotten to order a new surge protector. So I ran to Best Buy and purchased a crappy, overpriced Monster "home theatre" surge protector. After paying almost $40 for the stupid thing, I got home only to find that not only could I not fit all of my plugs into the narrow row of outlets, but the surge capacity was much too low for my beloved new big screen. I immediately went to Amazon.com and purchased this Belkin, like I should have done from the beginning. And it's perfect: wide-spaced outlets for wider plugs means you can use *ALL* 12 outlets (even with big, fat A/C adapters plugged in!); a 10' cord so you can run it to where you need it; low-profile, right angle plug means it will fit behind furniture easily, and plenty of joules to feel safe with. It's perfect! I returned the Monster, saved $15, and got a much superior product.
Customer Review: Great design! Summary: 5 Stars
Boy, I love the design of this surge protector! I use one for my home theater and one for my home computer setup. It really simplifies the connections in both rooms and feels solid. I like the slide-over outlet covers for unused slots. Also, the units I have come with two different ways to connect ethernet cords. The first is a regular one-input/one-output connection on the top of the unit and the other is a one-input/splitter output, meaning that I can easily connect both my phone and computer at the same time. This splitter connection is on the side of the surge protector, to the left of the coaxial connection, so its hard to see in the Amazon photo. Anyway, the Belkin really seems to have everything and at a great price. Its too bad I'll only know whether it actually protects my stuff if the house takes a shot of lightning! So far, the unit's great.
