I have purchased 4 of these cables over the last several months and I have no complaints. This is one of those "it works or it doesn't" kind of things. 5 stars or 1 star. And this is definitely 5 stars. The build quality is solid, and there is no difference in audio quality between this cable and a $40+ optical cable from one of those other companies.
Same goes with HDMI cables, by the way. All these great reviews don't lie. I was skeptical at first but at this price you can afford to take the risk, although there really isn't a risk. It just works. Stop reading this and order some cables.

I bought this cable to replace an old optical cable I purchased over 3 years ago that had finally given out. For whatever reason, I had trouble at first inserting this cable connector into the optical slot of my receiver and PS3. After finally getting a good feel for the contour of the cable head, I can now insert and remove this cable very easily from all of my inputs. The cable works great, seems to be great sound as expected, and for only a couple bucks, there is really nothing to complain about here. 1 star deducted for learning curve at the beginning. I purchased 6 of these optical cables and they work just fine, no excellent. I use it on my PS3 for music and DVDs. I recommend these to any looking for an inexpensive optical cable that works excellent for the PS3 and my Denon receiver, Klipsch Quintet speakers (2)Klipsch SW10 powered Subwoofer 300-500watts, (2)Baby Advent, Samsung 40" LCD, Nintendo Wii, Sony DVD/CD/MP3 player all have been made better with the optical hookup, sound quality clear,clean,crushing,cool the 4 c's of my standard of sound. AMAZON.COM has done it again with the best price around.

Getting an optical cable for under $2 is a good deal. After reviewing a few of the reviews it appears most people got a cable that works well. I unfortunately got one that worked for 1 usage. Next time i turned my receiver on it wouldn't work. I can only blame myself for buying this cheap alternative, it really was worth a shot, so no big loss. I did have to pay $5 in shipping though which is lousy. So overall i'd say buy at your own risk. Even though this cable is cheap and may break VERY quickly, you may have some luck and it might last longer than mine did.Customer Review: Worked as expected, no issues so far

When I read some of the reviews, I was a bit worried that the cable won't stay in place etc, but that wasn't the case. It fits just fine (both ends) and the speakers sound very good.
Pros:
- The cable works as expected
- Fits fine and stays in place
- Price ~2$
Cons:
- It arrived 9 days after I placed the order (right on the deadline of the estimated delivery date), but it shipped for free so I cannot really complain.
Other thoughts:
- I don't see why someone would pay more for a digital cable.
