I purchased this battery charger as I, somehow, misplaced the original Canon charger for my Rebel XTi. My thought was, that I could do nothing wrong at that price. It was supposed to be a temporary solution anyway - until I find my regular charger again. So I didn't expect too much and therefore I was positively surprised. The charger does exactly what it is supposed to do!
I've read some reviews about it, in advance, where people say the battery would fall out or that there is no light indicating that the battery is being charged. Honestly I can't say so. The battery stays in place (once you figured out how to put it there) and an orange light indicates that it is being charged. When its done, the light turns green.
Also I couldn't notice any differenc of the battery life. But I didn't have so many cycles of course, till now.
The only thing that really made a difference to me was, that it is a bit biger than the original Canon charger. That means that it doesn't fit into the camera bag as good as the original one. But therefore you get an attachment to charge in the car. I didn't get aroud to test it yet, but I have no concerns about it.
All together I'd say it was a good deal.
