My husband and I have loved our Bose SoundDock for about a year now. The sound quality on the system is great--you will never believe that the sound is coming from such a small unit. Set up is super easy, just take it out of the box, plug it in, and start listening! All of our iPods (we have several old iPods, a Classic, a 3G Nano, and two 3G iPhones) fit nicely into the cradle and play music through the system. The remote is convenient for switching songs when you are on the other side of the room.
The only warning I would offer is that if you have an iPhone 3G and you are looking for something that will also charge your iPhone, you might want to get a different set of speakers. The SoundDock does not charge the phone, but it will play music. Other than that, I have no complaints with this great little sound system.

This is a great stereo for your ipod. The sound is great and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. (ok its pricey but well worth it) My only complaint is I have a 2nd Generation iPod Nano (aluminum) and the nano insert does not fit. Yes, I can use the other ipod inserts, but it causes it to be flimsy in the other ipod holder-you have to be cautious. (If you were to hit the ipod by accident there is a possibility of it breaking the connector right off the sound dock) I will be calling Bose to see if they have a replacement part or if all 2nd gen nano's are like this. (Judging by some of the past reviews this has been an ongoing problem and I would hope it has been addressed) Overall great product. I gave it 4 stars cause of the hassle of having to call and request a new insert or be stuck with what I have)Customer Review: Good product

I purchased the Klipsch iGroove based on the lower price and advice from several reviewers online that the SoundDock and the iGroove were approximate equals. I loved the Klipsch with the exception of one significant flaw. The bass would buzz and hum on about 5-10% of the tracks - other reviews downplayed this flaw, but it became quite annoying and I returned the unit in favor of the SoundDock. The SoundDock doesn't have any problems with sound. It is what it claims to be: a quality small stereo for iPod; a rough equivalent to a good quality boom box. I'm keeping this unit. The only issues are the relatively high price and that the unit isn't nearly as solidly built as the Klipsch. The construction doesn't seem to affect the sound however, and I don't foresee moving the unit so I'm happy as is.Customer Review: Good while it lasted

I purchased one of these from Sams Club. The sound quality was good while it lasted. Key word is while it lasted. In less than six months it suddenly stopped playing music, but was still charging my iPhone. I took it back to Sams Club and they were nice enough to refund my money.
Pros:
Great sound quality
Electronically shielded, which is good if you are using an iPhone
Remote is convenient
Cons:
Lacks an audio input, which is bad, because for $300 it would be nice to use these speakers with my television
Lasted less than six months; Maybe mine was defective
$300 MSRP, almost as much as the portable SoundDock. You can get a system with comparable sound quality and more features for $100-150 from Logitech

Previous owner of a Bose radio here that strongly considered purchasing the JBL Radial because of the higher cost of the Bose Dock. After finding a very good price on Amazon.com, I changed my mind and splurged for the Bose. Very very happy! Nice full sound! Would be nice to have separate treble and bass adjustment, but unfortunately it isn't equipped with them. Still, I am very happy with it nonetheless and the real test is "how does it sound". I rate it very high for the rich full sound it produces and I decided I just plain wouldn't be happy if it wasn't a Bose, just like how some TV owners have to have a Sony. Obviously this isn't a scientific unbiased review, but rather just wanted to add to the list one more satisfied Bose Dock customer.
