This cabinet is suitable for what you need it for "holding a big 65" or larger rear projection TV", however, I found that the openings for the components were too small in some instances. My Onkyo receiver barely fits and doesn't allow for proper air circulation...I placed a small fan behind it in order to keep it from over heating. Adjustable shelves would have been better.
Also, the assembly of this item was ok, not too terrably difficult (but not easy by any matter).
Overall, this cabinet does look good and is very servicable.

This finely crafted wood cabinet is solidly constructed and is available in a beautiful Black finish. It accommodates most Flat Panel Plasma or LCD TVs, most Direct View TVs, or most DLP or LCD Projection TVs up to 73" plus at least 4 audio video components and a center channel speaker. A center top shelf with a drop-down apothecary style door provides ample media storage. This cabinet includes sets of interchangeable solid wood door panels and speaker cloth door panels to allow for the placement of most bookshelf speakers behind closed doors. The back panel includes a CMS? Cable Management System to hide wires and to provide proper air ventilation.
