WYSIWYG. Plug it into an MP3 player, and share your tunes with a friend. Plug it into a computer and watch a movie with another (provided you both have 3.5mm jack headphones). I first bought this years ago so that my wife and I could watch a movie on a portable player together while we waited to board our plane. I just so happened to see it here on Amazon, and remembered using it the other day to watch a movie with the wife, on the family tv, so as to not disturb the kids. Very simple design, how can you go wrong? Components do not seem cheaply made.Customer Review: Does not work with....

iPod "Touch" (nor my son's iPhone 3GS). Item description as shown does not say this, but the packaging clearly says "For: iPod 3G, 4G, 5G, mini, shuffle". Also, a little slip of paper is enclosed (mostly in Chinese) that has a line for the "Metal of connector" that has six columns following, each with a heading of a different metal...and under the heading of "Pb" (which is LEAD!)there is an "X" in this column; below this line is a legend that says "X: Indicate hazardous substance concentration higher than MCV". How do you share 1 ipod with someone else? Left bud for her, right bud for you. Noooo! Even if you heard that from Steve Jobs that is not the way to do it right. This is the way to go. This headphone splitter is handsome enough. Simple and useful device that just works.
Now you can be cheek to cheek with somebody without sharing some wax.

It works. A splitter is not one-way, it is two-way. I have my computer speakers as well as an RCA-headphone cable from the TV connected to the splitter. I plug it into the computer that is connected via dvi to the TV. Because the splitter is two way (all are) you can get audio output from the TV into the computer speakers (like when watching cable tv) and computer sound output to the computer speakers all at the same time. Many people do not know this, this makes it very easy for media center users and such.Customer Review: Fun watching movies on the plane with a loved one!

I was looking for a way to enjoy watching movies on the computer while on a plane. For every flight, my girlfriend and I would use one set of ear phones, splitting it between us. Seeing how noisy the plane ride can get (white noise!), it was a little difficult to hear everything.
Now, with two sets of ear phones, we can enjoy our movies with no noise to worry about!
A splitter was an awesome and INEXPENSIVE idea! Don't spend extra on a "double headset (4 ear phones with one connection).
