Customer Review: Worth the cost for me, may be different for you.
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this item so that my boyfriend and I could watch movies together on my laptop during a long Greyhound trip. I'm not sure if it was a defect in my product but when we first tried the headphone splitter we each only heard sound from one headphone. However, we found that if you hold the splitter a certain way as it was plugged in the sound would come through both headphones for each of us. Luckily, the position it had to be held in was still comfortable for me while we watched the movie so we were both able to have full audio. Because I don't intend to use this product often I feel it was definitely worth what I paid for. If the problem I experienced wasn't a defect it may become a burden if you choose to use this product often.

Customer Review: Hazardous Substance surprise
Summary: 1 Stars

I probably would have given this item a 5 star review. It works fine and seems to be built well. But there was a slip of paper inside the package that you wouldn't see until you purchased and opened the item. The paper is a mixture of Chinese and English writing warning of hazardous substances found in this item. In this case, the box for Lead is marked.

Now if I had known this has lead in it, I would have looked for a different item. I doubt that even Amazon is aware. My biggest concern is that a parent bought this item for their child (aren't lots of kids using iPods?) and threw the packaging away at Christmas without looking at it. I kept the paper in case Amazon needs to contact me and take a look at it.

Customer Review: Works great
Summary: 5 Stars

I was concerned that perhaps splitting the line level output from the audio jack on the computer and feeding it to the speakers on the desktop AND the receiver in the living room would end up meaning that I would get insufficient output to drive both, and especially driving the signal through the 50 feet of cable required to get to the receiver. However, this, combined with a heavy duty 50 foot audio cable I bought here on Amazon (Premium 2 RCA Male to 3.5mm Stereo Male, 50 ft) does exactly what I want, and everything works as it should. I notice no reduction in the audio from the desktop speakers, and the receiver is getting plenty of input as well. Very pleased.

Customer Review: Plain. Simple. Done.
Summary: 5 Stars

There really isn't too much to say about this splitter. It does exactly what it sets out to do. The quality of the construction is very high and it feels very solid and sturdy. I've found that while technically I would like the lengths of cable to be a few inches longer just due to the placement of my sound card and the proximity of my case to the legs of my desk, that the overall size and design is a perfect compromise between the little solid splitters I've seen and used, and the longer (12"+) cables I've used. The little wedges are great for an MP3 player, and the long cables ideal for stereo equipment, but I found this is the perfect size for a PC.

Customer Review: Just what I needed.
Summary: 5 Stars

I asked some friends who knew about audio, and they told me I'd need a splitter for my PC/Xbox/PS3 sound to all work coming from my monitor. At first I thought I'd never be able to find it, because it's such a small thing to have, but I guess my setup is more common than I think. Other people have to have this issue too. Anyway, I bought it. Works great. Although I have to manually unplug and plug in which I want to hear sometimes. It does this weird thing where if I have both Xbox and PC audio plugged in, the sound is very low. So having one unplugged while using the other works better. All in all, glad to have found what I needed for my setup to work.
