Customer Review: Excellent low cost shredder

Haven't had it long enough to rate the durability, and I haven't shredded a credit card yet. But based on everything else, I have no doubt this shredder will perform just like it ought to. I don't try and shred 8 or 10 pages at a time, so I've never had a jam. But I think the thing I like most about it is this: the instructions say to lubricate it by putting a little vegetable oil on a piece of paper and shredding it once a month. No expensive lubricants! Just use what you've already got (actually, we use coconut oil for all out cooking -- much better for you).
Great shredder. Nothing disappointing about it.

I just received this shredder, and thought since I had an Aurora before I couldn't go wrong. My old one (no longer available) worked flawlessly for years, so I guess I was spoiled. This one is difficult to feed the paper, doesn't shred the papers into pieces as small as the older model, basket is much smaller, and has to be emptied more often, and it is LOUD. Also, when the paper feeds through, the shredder does not stop as soon as the paper is done. It just runs on and on. (Much like this review.) Well, it's mine now, so I will have to adjust. It does the job, just not as nicely as I would have liked.Customer Review: Works great!

Just got it in the mail, and ran through all of the stuff that has been piling up in need of shredding. After 3 cans-full of shredding and several credit cards, no problems at all. Cuts up the paper nice and small, no issues with jamming (in fact I was kind of surprised that even when the paper got squished up some still no issues, just ate right through it). Have only been running about 6 pages at a time but it goes through them really quick so it's not a big deal even for bigger jobs. Is a bit noisy but to about the level I expected. I doubt there's many silent-running shredders out there.Customer Review: A pleasure to use

It is therapeutic to use this shredder. I insert the paper and it makes a wonderful sound that lets me know that I just shredded something. So far I have only shredded stuff I don't need, I am glad that it doesn't have one of those windows that pops up that asks "are you sure you wish to shred these documents? Click here for yes and here for cancel" This is one thing that starts when you ask it to without asking you a bunch of questions.
All kidding aside, I have not had any bad experiences with this shredder, for the money it was a good deal. Happy shredding to all.

I have read many reviews and I wonder if some of the problems could be resolved if after a bit if shredding, you used some 3in1 oil. Mine was not cutting well and I went on the web to look for another and noticed the ads for lubricating oil (with outragious prices). I tipped my oil can point down into the shredding teeth and ran a shot of oil the length of it. I am now using my old shredder with great results.
