I have had this for a month, and purchsed it in spite of quite a few negative reviews because I refuse to spend a fortune on a shredder when all I need it for is credit card junk mail and relatively few banking / confidential documents. It does the job perfectly well. Yes, you should only put in one folded piece of paper at a time (and yes, it has to be folded because the opening is small), but it happily chewed up 30 of these in a row when I was clearing out my desk. Since then, I have used it maybe once or twice a week. The bin is small but perfectly adequate for my needs. Very straightforward to operate. Bottom line - I have found it to be excellent for what it was made for - light home use.Customer Review: Very Nice

Shredder appears very well designed, is solid, and does an excellent job as a light duty shredder backing up my large unit. Keep it on the kitchen counter to quicklly shred the never ending mail containing information that I don't want to end up in the garbage. Very easy to use. Cutter handles the daily mail with no problem at all. Minor thing is that as a small shredder the basket fills quickly and the shredded material can go back into the shredder blade. However, I specifically wanted a samll shredder so can't complain. Only thing I would prefer is if the housing for the basket was black so that the shreddings were not visable.Customer Review: Should have read the reviews

Specs say 4 pages at a time. They also say 8.5x11 paper. However, the throat is only 5 inches wide, so a page of that size has to be folded in half. That's two sheets. Junk mail has to be separated before shredding.
I mostly use a shredder for credit card offers or the blank checks that existing cards send out. This will work OK for them, after I separate out the stuff that is private. I can toss the advertising stuffer stuff in the regular recycle bin.
Given the very low volume of usage I have here at home, this is barely OK. It would definitely be a bad choice in a workplace environment.

The shredder is compact, but that means the bin is rather small. Stores easily, and works as advertised.
The real disappointment for me is the size of the strips after shredding. The first thing I shredded was a personal check. The signature was nicely contained in one strip, and the entire bank account (and routing) number were together on another (that strip was two strips not quite separated). It works fine for shredding junk mail, but I wouldn't trust it for shredding anything overly important. Now I resort to using the shredded paper in my fireplace. Doesn't save me much work...

just got it today, works great. i had two year's worth of statements to shred. im sure it could have done it all nonstop but i did half first then gave it a break before finishing the second half cause i didnt wanna risk the shredder overheating. but either way my shredding is usually light. just some junk mail and a few voided checks and it works awesome for that. it shredded staples and credit cards too. it's great for small jobs. sure you have to fold the papers in half but if you're like me and dont have much to shred it's worth it. not to mention it's compact so it fits just about anywhere.
