Just got this shredder and can't believe the build quality for the price. The plastic see through container looks like it's sandblasted and the top unit is very sturdy and has a good set of grinder blades. Everything is what I was looking for in a shredder, but my only complaint is that it cuts straight sheets (doesn't crumple the cuts) and it cuts in straight horizontal/vertical lines. It would have been much better if it was a cross cutter, since most documents aren't printed on diagonals. Anyways, a good work around for this is just shredding your documents by inserting them at their diagonal point first and feeding the shredder that way. That ensures all the information is shredded and can not be read. The build quality is amazing. Great product.Customer Review: Great little shredder!

This is the third desktop shredder I've purchased in about eight years. The others were very good, and they were for my Mom who is in her 70's. The first lasted about five years, and now she's on her second, not this brand. My floor model gave out and I decided to get a desktop model for myself.
Advantages of this model over the others we have owned:
*handle on the top motor housing for easy lifting
*cleaning tool (no more rummaging for screw drivers and crochet hooks!
*a pocket on each side for the cleaning tool
*cute oval design
*not as noisy as the bigger floor models
*really cuts the paper, doesn't just rip it up

I don't use this shredder very often, since I can easily take my giant stack of bills to work and throw them in the industrial shredder. It's been several months since I've used it, but I thought I'd shred some junk mail to use as packing material for the holidays. I took a sheet, folded it in half and watched it shred, I repeated this a few more times until it overheated and shut itself off. At first I thought it was jammed, so I scraped bits of paper out and it still wouldn't come back on. I came back 10 minutes later and was able to shred a few more sheets before it overheated again. It would appear that it does this with just a few shreds, which makes it pretty useless. Perhaps mine is defective, but I'm very disappointed.Customer Review: Perfect for light use

I have had this shredder for about 2 months and it works very well for my purpose (shredding junk mail). I only shred several sheets per day, or every couple of days, and I never continuously shred for more than 30-45 seconds (which is more then enough time to shred junk mail). I never feed more than 3 sheets at once, which means I have to open up each envelope to shred the contents, but that really isn't too much trouble.
The container has a small capacity but I just place an empty cardboard box beside the shredder and empty it often into this box. It's pretty convenient since the cover is very easy to pop on and off. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase. No paper jams so far..

This little guy is so strong. I use to shred my mail (anything with my name on it etc.) It is robust and I was scared it was going to be a little wimpy guy. You cannot put full paper as not wide enough but I just fold. My work as one of those big machines and anything over 8 papers it jams. I treat this guy nicely and put about 1 or 2 papers in it at a time. It can take up to 4 but why risk it. It hasn't jammed yet. It also takes credit cards which is nice. Great to have next to your desk and actively shred when your mail comes in. I cannot complain. Great for transporting. Even if I move, this little guy can go anywhere. If I come back as a shredder, I want to be this one. It's supermodel material.
