Customer Review: Compact and easy to use: great for occasional home use

I really like this shredder. It's much more compact than most shredders, so it sits easily on a desk and doesn't take up much room. You can leave it on 'auto' so that it is always ready to shred, or switch it off for extra safety.
The container is clear, making it easy to see when it is full. Also, it's very easy to remove the top and empty the container. The only downside of that is the top doesn't snap on tightly - so it's easy to remove, but it seems it would also be relatively easy for the top to come off if you bumped it off the table.
The opening to the shredder is fairly narrow, so you have to fold 8.5 x 11 paper, but if you use it primarily for bills and old credit cards, it's perfect (but only takes about 4 sheets or 1 card at a time).
If you want something for a home office and expect to have more substantial needs, get a bigger unit with a more powerful motor - and one that fits 8.5 x 11 paper.

We were looking for a new shredder to fit into our small space. I liked this one because it didn't have a typical large/dark gray office color. It's simple to use and would be perfect if I shredded every time the mail comes in. But I let it pile up sometimes and am a little frustrated when I need to shred a lot. No fault of the shredder - I should probably just shred as the junk comes in instead of letting piles accrue around the dining table! I was shredding a big pile today and after a while the motor overheated. After waiting a bit I was back on track. I was able to shred about 30 pages at a time before needing to empty the basket. I had to redistribute the shredded paper on occasion - giving the basket a little shake. After 30 pages the motor just stops because there's no where for the paper to go... Overall - it does what it says. Buyers just need to know that it's not for big jobs.Customer Review: Mighty Mite

This little shredder performs quite well. It cuts paper into confetti-sized pieces that I think is adequate enough for home use. Because of its size, it's easy to fit in a small space and you can put a small plastic bag in the bin to make disposal of paper easier. There are just a couple of things that take away from this shredder. One is that the slot cannot take the whole width of a regular piece of paper. You have to fold it or I found, tearing it in thirds is more efficient. Also, the handle's only purpose is to lift the mechanized part of the shredder to separate the bin. Do not try to use it to carry the shredder to another place, especially when it's not empty because the bin will come off and scatter all the contents, as I found out. There is no locking mechanism. I also wish that the price would be a little cheaper because larger shredders sell for about the same price.Customer Review: Awsome tiny shredder

I bought this shredder (don't laugh!) as a Bday present. My husband is a very practical person and he hates presents (calls it "waste of money"). I knew he wanted a shredder for occasional use and I bought him one for the upcoming Bday. I've never seen him this happy with a present!
The shredder it small, but that's a good thing. It doesn't take much space and looks cute. Some people complain about the size of the slot, but for us it's not a problem - just fold the paper. It can shred up to 4 peices of paper folded in two at a time.
When we got the shredder, of course the first thing we did we tested it. It says "shreds credit cards". The one we put in got stuck. Then we read the instructions - "Put credit cards in VERTICALLY" - Duh!!! We should have read the instructions!
Overall I'm very happy with the purchase. A very good investment of [...] bucks!

This shredder is perfect for light use at home.
It completely suited my requirements:
1. Light Use: I just have to shred a few documents in a week at home,
2. Reasonable cost: I didn't want to buy something that was expensive, and this is great for its price.
You have to fold paper to put it in the shredder's "opening", but this is a "task" that I wouldn't have normally noticed, hadn't I read the earlier reviews. In short, it's not at all inconvenient, and takes no time at all. Also, it's super easy to use.
So far, I'm completely satisfied with the purchase.
Update - May 2010: I have been using this product for more than a year now, and my experience has continued to be great. Also, I've also shredded a couple of credit-cards without any issues. Only, I shredded them one at a time just to be cautious.
