Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Atlantic Satellite SPSCUR47 2 Speaker Stands (Titanium)Customer Review: Your last stand Summary: 5 Stars
Over the last four years I have had three different Home Theatre systems - well, two theater systems and an executive micro system - but only this set of stands. My first pair was purchased from a local mass market merchandiser in a matte gray finish but when I needed another set that store no longer carried them. I chose to sit the speakers on the floor rather than pay top dollar for another brand until I happened to find them here. With consideration to price, quality of construction and utility, it is not likely you will find many competitive products as durable and cost efficient.
The telescoping support pole can be extended from just over two feet to about 4 feet. The "L" shaped rear speaker support bracket is a wired prong that facilitates variable locations of mounting holes on the rear of speaker cases. It works best for speakers two pounds or less with flat rear panels and flat square bases but for all three speaker sets I have used, with a little thought and adaptability, it was pretty easy to come up with alternative methods to secure and stabilize. One set of speakers I mounted (with creative use of matching duct tape) was appreciably heavier. Over time, the supplied double stick foam may lose adhesiveness but the speaker platform support has four pre-drilled screw holes if one wants to firmly secure the speaker. I have found using the rear bracket alone sufficient.
The triangular shaped base works well with most floor surfaces and the hollow tube construction assists in controlling that mess of wires leading from the receiver. These stands might be inexpensive, but they are absolutely of top quality.

CAUTION
Be sure to buy direct from Amazon! Not Electrogalaxy! Electrogalaxy is the primary seller because its list price is the cheapest, HOWEVER, shipping adds an extra $15. If you buy from Amazon and do the free super-saver shipping, it's about $7 cheaper and it probably ships a lot quicker. ALSO, these stands are not shiny silver but dark grey, which I like because they don't call a lot of attention to themselves.
PROS
1) Low Price: The least expensive pair of stands I could find, though I still think it's quite a bit of money for a couple of rods and triangles.
2) Decent Quality: Stands seam sturdy enough, even on carpet.
3) Easy Assembly: Had two sets assembled and speakers mounted in 20 minutes.
4) Adjustable Height: I put the fronts about ear-level (38") and the surrounds as high as possible (48").
5) Hidden wire design.
CON
1) Speakers shorter that 5 inches will cause the top of the back bracket to be exposed--a very minor annoyance above my 4" speakers. But I felt using the bracket and screw would be safer than using the accompanying double-sided tape, and it really doesn't look too bad.
SUMMARY
Overall, I am pleased with my purchase of two matching sets for both front and surround speakers. For the relatively low price, you really can't go wrong with these stands for a basic home theater system with compact speakers.
Customer Review: Greatest Stands at a Great Price Summary: 5 Stars
After doing a lot of research on speaker stands for the home, I decided I needed very good quality, heavy speaker stands, with a recognized brand name, at discount price, or I wasn't buying any.
The Atlantic stands I received through Amazon are much better quality than I expected. Being in broadcasting and private production work since 1974, I've been around good and bad equipment. There's nothing worse than a wannabe; a product that purports to take care of a function, when it really doesn't. I've seen speakers hanging cockeyed from ceiling and wall mounts, stands that don't even stand streight, or even ones that wobble when someone walks by them. These Atlantic SPSCUR47 speaker stands weren't only heavy duty and attractive, they also passed the wires through for totally invisible cable paths, and were the least expensive in Amazon's lineup. With no one helping, in under 45 minutes, I had all four speakers (I bought two sets) setting right at listening height, in exactly the four locations that produced the best surround effect ever. They were no longer setting happen stance on book shelves, the aquarium, the window ledge and the back of the couch. When located properly, most surround speakers should be virtually invisible; and that's exactly what these are.
Customer Review: These speaker stands are as perfect as they can be. Summary: 5 Stars
Having worked in the audio/video profession for most of my life, from the photograph and description, I had a pretty good idea as to what I might expect. These stands look like they have been manufactured using mostly off-the-shelf parts for budget microphone stands (cast-iron base and adjustable steel pole). These stands are rock solid and in my opinion are strong enough to hold speakers weighing a good bit more than the 2lb. limit set by the manufacturer, were it not for the fact that this would make them too top-heavy, and due to the small size of the bases, this would make them very prone to falling over. The "titanium finish" allows the stands to blend into what I would consider average home décor, and thus not draw undue attention to themselves.
All-in-all, these stands perform their job as well as one could want, and IMHO, at the price for which they're being offered, you're getting a terrific bargain. Consider this: right here on Amazon, you can purchase similar type microphone stands (base and pole only, with the only real difference being the chrome finish on the pole) and pay around the same price for just one stand.
Anyway, I hope this review helps.
'nuff said!
Customer Review: Some details Summary: 4 Stars
First, the box comes with two stands. So ordering "1" means you get a pair.
Second, mounting speakers: They have a small platform on top of the vertical riser, that has four holes in it that you can run screws into the bottoms of your speakers, if you want. The platform is about 2"X3". Then, there's a bracket of sorts that sticks out the back and runs up the back of your speaker, through which you can slot a bolt(included with washers) and that bolt would mount into the threaded thing on the back of your speakers, if you have one. They give you two thread sizes. The bracket runs about 5" up the back, and is slotted the whole length, so no matter where your hole is, it should work. If they don't include YOUR size bolt, just run to the hardware.
Now my logitech 5500's did not have the bolt hole on the back, so I just used the double stick foam they included, and then zip tied the speaker base to the stand's platform and voila. Very nice.
If they could have pulled out a better mounting scheme for MY particular speakers, I'd have given them a 5!!!
Enjoy.
