Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Atlantic Satellite 77305018 2 Speaker Stands (Black)

Customer Review: Great Deal
Summary: 5 Stars

I think its get the job done and is so much cheaper than anything on your local store. It is very sturdy and heavy and is no danger of swaying or falling if the cords are tucked away. Gives you enough height. I am using it all extended and seems really stable. Its like the thing that you will buy and place and forget because gives you no trouble. I personally had an issue of installing my speakers on to the stand. But i dont blame the stand for it as they have given tens of options to install speakers its just that my speakers were not made install friendly. (Samsung HTZ420) If your speakers also have only small tiny holes to hang them on the nail on the wall then forget it. Unless you are willing to drill a hole in it. I was but didnt had the drill machine. So i got it attached with Tape that they actually had packaged in (told you all tens of options). It was not very strong hold meaning that one of speakers did slip when i jerked up the stand but then onwards i was carefully. Since leaving them on undisturbed i have not had an issue. Then again price was good enough to tolerate this. (I am using four of them to mount front and back speakers as i like no holes drilled in the wall.)

Customer Review: Awesome Stands for the price!
Summary: 5 Stars

I got these as a cheap alternative to some of the more expensive stands out there. 2x.00 dollars is no big hit in the pocket, and amazons prime made it even sweeter. I had my rear speakers sitting at weird angles and they had a habbit of falling. I decided to pick up these and see if they could neat things up a bit. The stands are VERY sturdy, and do what they are made to do. I have a samsung 5.1 set, and the rear speakers are pretty small. The stands themselves are great and very sturdy. They have 3 methods for attaching the speakers. 1.) sticky pads on the bottom. 2.) a bar that runs up the back of the speaker, and if your speaker has a bolt hole in the center back, you can use a screw and a washer to mount the speaker to the stand. 3.) screw holes on the bottom. You can screw into your speakers using the 4 screw holes on the bottom. I went with the sticky pads on the bottom, and it seems to be holding my speakers fine. My speakers had little feet that made it more difficult to get it secure, but in the end it still is working good for me. The wire goes through the center to hide the speaker wire too, which is good.

Customer Review: Poorly machined
Summary: 1 Stars

One of my speaker posts was machined incorrectly and dropped right into the base - the threads didn't even catch. The problem is apparently not unique. Moe33 had a similar, though not as severe issue, documented in a review here on amazon.com. This left me with the dilemma, which I still face, of returning the product or finding a workaround. My workaround, several layers of teflon tape on the threads, at least allowed me to continue assembly, but the post is permanently wobbly and I'm not confident it will last more than a few hours. This set may go back to amazon.

The bracket for the speaker mounting bolt pretty much exactly covers the wiring posts on the speaker. I worked around this with some fiddling, a sharp bend in the wire, and a careful inspection to insure I wasn't shorting anything out.

Yes, they're inexpensive, but they may get returned and wind up as scrap. No one wins that way.

Customer Review: Great value, good for small speakers
Summary: 5 Stars

I am very pleased with these speaker stands. I looked around and these were the best deal available. Many speaker stands are expensive, way too much for a simple item. I considered making something but that would have cost more and not been as good. These arrived quickly, and were very easy to set-up. They are stable (heavy base), they keep the wires hidden, and adjust from about 17" to 48" high. Attaching to my small satellite (surround) speakers was extremely easy. For the front speakers that are taller (about 10.5" tall), I had to slightly re-shape the "L" shaped wire bracket that holds the speaker to the stand using the screw hole in the back of the speaker. This took five minutes with pliers and a vice, to change the location of the bend. You can also use the two-sided tape to attach speakers to the base plate (which is about 3" square). I used the metal bracket, which seemed stronger, to attach the speakers. It goes from out the back of the base plate then up the back of the speaker to the screw hole on the back of the speaker. I am using these with the Panasonic SA-PT750 home theater system.

Customer Review: Excellent Value
Summary: 4 Stars

Overall, I have nothing but positive things to say about these stands. 'Nothing cheap or chintzy about them even though they retail for less than half the price of comparable Bose UFS-20 model. Setup was about half a beer's worth duration. Instructions and organization of parts were pristine!

Two observations that some prospective buyers could find detractive:

(1) A previous review was correct about the stand being slightly off vertical when the stand was put in the fully extended position; lowering from the fully extended position by an inch or so resolved the problem.

(2) If you have Bose speakers with the special four-wire plug the size of a small matchbox (such as the CineMate home theater system has), you will not be able to thread the speaker wire up through the stand; but for any conventional audio jack these stands should allow threading with no problem. (Inner diameter of stand's upper tube is approx. 1/2").

Update: Stands have been in service for over a year now and I remain completely satisfied with their quality and value.
