Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Atlantic Satellite 77305018 2 Speaker Stands (Black)Customer Review: 5 stars for price alone! Summary: 5 Stars
Speakers Used: Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1
Easy to setup...sorta. attaching my speakers on the stands was a bit tricky, but I just tightened the screws a bit more and I feel overall, the stands are very sturdy, provided I don't fully extend them (which I won't, as they are nice and tall fully extended). When you extend them fully, there is a bit of wobble.
The stands Klipsh recommends for these speakers are about $80-90 per pair - heaven forbid you get 2 pair! For the price, these stands are simply wonderful...I had to remind myself they were so inexpensive.
Notice I don't say "cheap" as I don't want to have the word mean the stands are cheap in build as well as price. The build is really great for the price. If you look at the stand bottom, you may find some signs of a poor mold - or whatever they use to make the bottoms - but that's on the underside of the stand - I felt the bottoms themselves were very well designed and I did a "nudge test" to see if the stands would topple. I felt that they withstood the test well. If you cross-check them, yes they will fall, but if they are in a low-traffic area, you're good to go.
If you need stands, get these and save some dough. Please don't drill holes in your speakers as the instructions suggest...speaker abuse, in my opinion.
Customer Review: Good construction, doesn't work for keyhole mounts Summary: 3 Stars
I rated this a 3 because while it has good solid construction, and is looks great, it did not work well for my application/speaker style.
I have fairly small speakers, but the mount on there is a keyhole type, so that you could mount them on a wall with just a screw. The problem is that the keyhole is close to the top of the speaker, similar to a picture frame, and the "L" bar that us used to mount the speaker is not tall enough to reach the keyhole.
This left me with drilling a hole in my speaker so that I could use the L-bar. I am afraid to do that as I do not know what the interior of the speaker looks like, and I do not want to drill into something vital.
The other option was to use the provided 2 way foam tape. This does not work well either as the speakers have little rubber feet on them that does not stick to the tape well.
Basically my speakers are just sitting on the stand.
One other issue is that I cannot run my wire thru the stand as the wire is hard wired into the speaker, and on the other end is a hardwired plug that goes into my receiver. This does not fit in the tube.
I do not feel like cutting an splicing the wire, so basically the wire runs down, and is taped to the back, but is still visible.
Customer Review: Best stands for the price Summary: 3 Stars
First of all, a decent pair of speaker stands usually cost far more than these. Shopping around I couldn't find anything comparable to these for less than $50 a pair, and most ran closer to $75 a pair. Now the downside, I ordered two pairs of these stands for my front and rear satellite speakers. On one of the stands the indentation on the base for the logo sticker was stamped crooked and two of the clips that hold the bracket down had paint flaking off. The stamping error isn't a big deal and you can't notice unless you look at it close, and the flaking paint on the clips was quickly remedied with some Rustoleum paint. These are small problems, nothing that I mind too much, and certainly not worth detering you from buying these stands. Also, my speakers (Polk Audio RM6750) aren't perfectly flat on all sides and don't mount properly to the stands. The bracket had to be pulled back, and even then the speakers don't sit perfectly flat on the base. But they feel secure enough and I'm not worried about them falling off or anything. Speakers that are more rectangular in shape would probably mount perfectly on these stands though. So just don't expect the world with these stands, if you want something cheap that will hold your small speakers, these can't be beat.
Customer Review: Inexpensive Speaker Stands for Inexpensive Speakers... Summary: 2 Stars
It's a tough decision to make-- do I pay the outrageously expensive price for the speaker stands designed to go with my system, or do I buy these seemingly adequate, cheaper stands and hope everything works out?
I went with the latter option and wound up returning three sets of stands to Amazon. If you have small, relatively inexpensive speakers that won't cause you to cry should they crash to the ground, these speakers might suit your needs. The stands are a bit on the wobbly side, and the supporting rod is rather thin, so I wouldn't use them for speakers taller than 5 inches or heavier than 3.5 pounds. I found the "L" brackets designed to bolt the stand to the speakers to be too short as well (I believe they are about 4 or 5 inches tall). And I would never reccommend using the double-sided tape to affix the speakers to the stand under any circumstances!
Speaker stands seem to be a great way for speaker manufacturers to bleed some more money out of you-- I bought an Onkyo speaker set that seemed to be designed with the intent of forcing the consumer to spend and extra $130 for their proprietary stands. Consider wall-mounting your speakers if they are large or expensive!
Customer Review: Great Bang for the Buck. I would reccomend them to a friend. Summary: 5 Stars
I think these speaker stands are pretty great. I recently purchased a 7.1ch home theater system from Best Buy and needed 4 speaker stands for the side and rear speakers. The stands offered in their store were $85 for two. That is just ridiculous. When I found these on here I saw some of the bad reviews and was a little skeptical, but there were some good ones too. They seemed like the best bang for the buck and sure enough, they were. I placed an order for a quantity of 2 which totals 4 stands. They arrived quickly and in good condition. They were simple to unpack and put together. If you have any common sense and own a screw driver it should be easy. One person on here said the pulled the inner extension pole out of the outer pole and had a hard time putting it back together. USE COMMON SENSE! DON'T DO THAT! You shouldn't need to pull it out that far anyway. Speakers should be positioned approximately at ear height. I only had to extend them about 14 inches. The provided mounting screws fit perfectly into the "hanging holes" in the back of my satellite speakers. They seem to be of solid construction and have a nice heavy base. I am very happy with them and would recommend them to anyone.
