I was using this unit to hold CD cases, which I admit can be heavy. But if you say your product can hold 280 CDs, it should be able to hold 280 CDs. As a matter of fact, well before I reached that point the weight of the CDs caused the sides to bow outward, causing the "adjustable" shelves to fall.
Very disappointed with this product.

This "multimedia cabinet" is made of junk. It's flimsy, it's kinda small, and it's made of cardboard (nearly anyway), but all that said, it was worth what I paid for it. Reading other reviews I knew not to have high expectations, and that's what I got! It holds most of my movies and has yet to crumple into a little heap. Great price on the product. Shipped really fast but the box looked as though it went through a war. One of the corners were broken right out of the box and the black marker fixed the other nicks. I have three of these cabinets. They are made from cheap material, but work very well at holding cd's,movies,and even books. I have moved three times with my shelves, and they are still in good condition. Not the best product.. but they work well, are durable and are pretty cheap compared to other shelving units.
