Customer Review: Great item, but a pain to set up.

Before I talk about this, I want to let everyone know that I bought this at Best Buy and it was an open box item so the price was much less than the regular price. (I paid $109 and the item regularly costs $155)
That being said, I started putting this item together, only to take it apart several times because I put the wrong side of the lumber in front. What made things MUCH worse was that when we finally put everything together, we tried to lay down the whole cabinet to put on the back covering, and when we did that, the things that hold certain parts of the boards together (the white plastic things that you screw the black screws into) completely ripped off of the board. So we had to superglue them back on, and after all of that hassle, we were finally able to put everything together and luckily everything stayed in one piece.
So even though this was a PAIN to put together, it was still worth it in the end cause the shelf looks REALLY nice now and I was able to customize all my shelves to put all my DVD's/Videos/CD's/Games in.
I would give this a 5 but I can't just because of how unstable the parts really are when you put them together. At least they have no problems holding up whatsoever when the cabinet is done putting together.

I paid $133 for the 1st of these that I bought, and was very satisfied with the purchase, so I looked into getting another one. I put off my search because within the 2 weeks since my 1st purchase the price had gone over $150. The price came down again to $142, and I really needed the 2nd one so I bought it. Once assembled, it looked fine, but this one was not delivered in good shape as the 1st one was. There were scratches in the surface veneer(looks like it is paper wood?), and a number of the particle board pieces were chipped. Nothing really major worth sending back because of the weight, and not overly visible once everything was assembled, but not as happy with the second, MORE EXPENSIVE, item because of its condition. Assembly was fairly simple, just take your time, follow the directions, and don't try to do this in cramped quarters. 1st purchase was a 5 star for price and quality, 2nd was a 3 star, average it out to a 4 star overall.Customer Review: Meets our needs

We purchased two of these for our very large DVD collection (we ended up getting a third, since two wasn't enough.) Definitely heed the advice to place the boards under the middle and top when nailing the backing on. I misread it, and we didn't brace the middle section and it came completely apart. Luckily nothing cracked, and we were able to put it back together without any problems. The third one arrived with one of the boards missing the pre-drilled holes. We didn't realize this until we started screwing in the screws, so we ended up with some minor cracking on the one side. We then drilled holes ourselves, rather than wait for a replacement piece to arrive.
Overall I'm fairly happy with it. I expected the quality level to be a little higher, but I guess there's only so much you get with furniture you have to assemble. They definitely hold a lot of DVDs, and I do like how little floor space they take up.

I was running out of room for all my dvds and wanted somewhere to put them that looked halfway decent and didn't take up too much room. I did some research and this looked like it would do the trick. When I ordered it came in 2 days with free shipping. My daughter put it together for me and it didn't take too long. It was alot easier than another rack I had before. The only bad thing was that it is so heavy. But that can be a good thing too. I don't think I have to worry about it falling apart. Also don't find out the hard way like my daughter did. Read the whole directions through before you start. They back track alittle so it is easy to put together upside down or backwards. As long as you pre read the directions you should be fine. Now I can fit many more movies in my rack.Customer Review: Very Effective

Atlantic 38435182 Oskar 1080 CD/504 DVD/BluRay/Games Wood Cabinet; is very good for my ever growing CD's and DVD collects. The ease of assembly took a couple of hours with just one human. No drills needed read the instructions carefully and get a hammer and Philips screw driver. Everything is labeled by alphabet and numbered. Then follow the instruction putting each board and to its own lettered board using the designated connector. The HInt of using a book to stabilize the center is a good idea until the backing s nailed on works great.
This wall unit opened my bookcase and brought order to my films. I like it and highly recommend this product. I'll buy the smaller one for my collectables.
