I purchased this unit along with the 605, and was using both in less than an hour. The DVR Station is attached to my Dishnetwork DVR in my home office/entertainment room, where I can record my tv shows or download them when I have my 605 with me. I purchased the Archos 605 WiFi as a Christmas present for my husband. I read that the docking station was needed to record tv, so I ordered it as well. The docking station even charges your system faster than plugging it in to your computer. He has recorded several hours of movies/tv on his system and loves it. Must-have addition with the Archos 605. Allows external HD which lets you have lots of cheap storage... TV recording works via IR transmitter in the same window as the receiver... amazingly it works perfectly even when pointing the same direction as my cable box! This accessory is very usefull charging my Archos a lot faster than the provided USB cable. The DVR also allows me to watch movies on my Archos on our big screen HD TV.I haven't tried to download any TV programs yet.
Only downside so far is the price:I thought was a bit high but all in all
I'm happy with this purchase.

Highly recommended add-on to your already impressive Archos 605 wifi. I can share whatever I am viewing on my unit to a larger TV screen for everyone to enjoy. And as in any DVR, you get TV show schedule via download that could be recorded. It says the first year program subscription is free, I wonder how much it costs afterwards?
