Customer Review: GREAT Product but a few comments
Summary: 4 Stars

I was not very quick to jump on the ipod touch band-wagon but now I am glad I have. This fine piece of computer technology has made my life easier and has filled many time gaps I have in between class (or sometimes while in class). The ipod touch is great for:
1. People who are, on a daily basis, near a wi-fi signal
2. People who get e-mails throughout the day
3. Those who want to surf the internet at any point and time without the use of a cell phone company or hauling around a large laptop
I have had this device for about two weeks now and there are really no problems (knock on wood) just a few suggestions
1. Steve Jobs, you are a billionaire, so why charge $20 for a software upgrade? also, why have you put a chokehold on AV cords made for the touch. So far, if you want to watch anything from your ipod touch on a TV, you need to spend about $50 on an apple AV cord (ipod touch will not work with anything other than apple cords.) Once again, Apple, you manage to piss people off (i.e. lowering the price of the iphone after many people just bought it for a higher price)
anyways, great product, i would recommend it to everyone

Customer Review: Pretty decent.

I actually got this product for free when I purchased my laptop. I use it often and I probably would have bought one for myself eventually. I love the fact that I can listen to streaming radio on my ipod touch. I listen to it all day at work and when I am working on assignments at home. I also like that I can check my e-mail, the weather, and surf the internet. The internet feature came in very handy when I was traveling and my hotel had free wireless internet. The battery life on this unit is pretty good. I was able to listen to my ipod during a 6 hour drive and back, which really impressed me.

So far, I have two complaints about the unit. Some mp3 players have fm radio tuners so I could listen to local radio stations. The ipod touch does not have this feature. My other complaint is that I can't delete songs directly from the Ipod. I have to plug it in to my computer and re-sync to remove songs.

Overall, I am very happy with the Ipod touch. It holds enough music to keep things interesting and the battery life is great! It has a slew of features and extra applications that can be downloaded through the apps store.

Customer Review: Considering Buying
Summary: 4 Stars

I went into the shiny new very modern seeming Apple Store in my mall and played with the 'toys' there. I was admiring the i-Touch in the store and played around with it. I also asked the stores associates, who were very helpful for some advice on it. It was pretty cool and easy to work. I did notice that the virtual key-pad took some getting used to, as I kept hitting the wrong keys. The associate said you had to aim for the left of the button- that worked! I also noticed a feature from Nike for exercise that seemed cool, but learned you have to buy another piece of hardware ($30) and they said it worked best in Nike shoes($125). Next, I went to Apps and saw that most things were around $7.50 and up to download- yikes! My area doesn't have much Wi-Fi around and we have a wired connection, so I wonder if I can enjoy it out so much. A couple of things that I can see would improve it would be if it flipped 'closed' or had a built in case. Also I know it's a cool touch screen, but I wish it could go into a mode with some sort of pointer device too. Overall... It sounds like a fun gadget and my birthday is coming up... so why not?!

Customer Review: Love it
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had the iPod Touch for about a month. I just took it with me on a business trip and it was magnificent. I was able to keep in touch with my office via e-mail on the Touch; also the e-mail let me see not only the text messages but also attachments; full web browsing for both the conference material and for things to do after hours; I had downloaded various free games to entertain me; I bookmarked links to my travel info; used it as my music player on the plane. It was both an indispensable business tool and a great toy. The App selection is broad and growing daily.

Shortcomings: Very few. Typing with the touch screen keypad is, of course, not as good as a real keyboard - much slower - but the device does compensate by having a fairly robust correction mode - type anything close to the word you want and it auto-corrects to that word. When actively using Wireless, the battery life isn't great. I'd say less than 3 hours of continuous browsing & e-mail, but that's about what you get with a laptop.

Overall, the iPod replaced my laptop for communication purposes and that made me very happy.

Customer Review: Buy a new ipod touch
Summary: 2 Stars

Okay, just for the record, I love ipod touches, but please, if you're going to get one, get a new one.

The new ones are smaller, so if portability is a big issue for you, get a newer one.
The new ones have better battery life, so if you are going to use your ipod for extended periods of time, get a newer one.
The new ones have an external speaker and motion sensors for games and such, so if games are an important feature for you, get a newer one.
The new ones are faster, so if you use your ipod as a personal computer, get a newer one.
The new ones are stronger, so if you're clumsy, get a newer one.
The new ones (2nd generation on up) support IOS 4 and higher.
The really new ones have 2 cameras (front and rear facing) so if photography (or Facetime) is important to you, get a newer one.
Finally, the newer ones support WiFi, so if you want to surf the interwebs, get a newer one.

Last and definatly not least, the new ones cost THE SAME as the old ones, and have many upgrades, so why would you buy this model?
Trust me, get a new one
