Customer Review: Beware of iPod Touch

I purchased the 16GB iPod Touch for Christmas but unfortunately it stopped functioning after only 3 months of normal use. When I tried to return the product to an Apple store they 'reset' the iPod, which appeared to fix the problem. As soon as I got home it was clear that the iPod was still not functioning correctly. I went back to the store the next day but was told that they were too busy to help me. Apple then sent me to another store (30 minute drive away) where I was forced to wait for 3 hours before anyone would help me. When I finally got someone to help, it took about 5 minutes for them to realize that the iPod was defective at which point they replaced the device.
Three trips to two different Apple stores with over 5 hours of waiting. And to top it all off they refused to replace the plastic screen protector (which I had purchased from Apple).
Save yourself a headache and try another product. Or at least wait another year until they figure out how to make this product without defects.

I was very frustrated by my iPod Touch (1st Generation) when I first received it. It froze up constantly while online, and I could not get apps for it. Then I learned that a $10. download would upgrade it to fix both problems. After two days of constantly trying to download the purchased upgrade, I was finally successful.
I love this thing! There is so much free stuff in the apps store. I can read free novels and play free games like crazy!
The real reason I wanted the Ipod Touch was to load my art photographs on it so I could review them and show them to interested people. I think Apple could find a better way to organize photos on the iPod. The music organization is lacking, too. I have music on three computers at home, but I can only access music through iTunes on one designated computer. I think the iPod Touch is fantastic, but the software is lacking. Now let me get back to my iPod. I have a novel to finish, photos to enjoy, games to play, and music to hear.

I have owned a 4gb Ipod Nano since last year, but found that watching video on it was not ideal. I wanted to get an Iphone, but am locked into Verizon. So, I decided to get an Ipod Touch. Got the 16gb 1st Gen model, because it was on sale. I am definitely not disappointed. Watching video on it is great and video is easy to convert to the Ipod with all the 3rd party applications available for Ipods. I got the upgraded firmware and love App store. There is something out there for everyone on App store. The interface on the Ipod is very intuitive. The touch screen is very responsive and you can use to zoom and scroll pictures. The Safari browser on the Touch is the best mobile browser I have ever used. It is easy to input URLs and to scroll and zoom webpages. Bottom line is if you just listen to music you can get a Nano or some regular Ipods cheaper. But if you watch alot of video or would like to use the Ipod to browse the internet or play games, the Ipod Touch is the one to get.Customer Review: Great upgrade from 8GB

I used to have the 8GB version. I am really glad I upgraded to the 16GB version. The extra storage really comes in handy when you start using more videos. With the recent 2.2 update this size also comes in handy when downloading podcasts and apps from the iPod touch itself. This is the best gadget I have ever owned. A very good investment. This is a very versatile media player. From internet and email to pda funcitons to gaming to video to music and photos. If you have the 8GB version and cant decided whether to upgrade to the 16GB. You should your library of songs, videos, photos and apps is always growing. So you will always need more storage. Its better to have more so that you can use this ipod for atleast 1 to 2 years without having to upgrade. Ideally its best to upgrade to the 32GB version but if you cant then upgrade to the 16GB version. Also make sure you update your software to the latest even if it costs you about $10 its worth it with all the capabilities it has.Customer Review: 16Gb Ipod Touch--Don't waste your money

I bought this item, last October. Since then I have been unable to do much but download some music onto it. In January, Itunes told me to update my ipod, it totally shut my ipod completely and was not able to fix it using the suggestions given on website---very little support. Called Apple and was told to send it in and they would replace item. Sent it in and received the same one back, they said they could not find anything wrong with it, well it worked again for a very short period of time and of course once the warranty was up on it (only 3 months) it stopped working again. Have tried everything again to no avail. What a waste to throw almost $400 dollars in the garbage, but Apple will not help me without charging me more money to talk to them and at least a $100 just to send machine in again. I am not willing to put more money into this piece of junk. Save your money!!!!!!!Buy something other than an apple ipod. I learned my lesson the hard and expensive way.
