I've owned an ipod classic for four years but given the shuffle last Christmas, and love it. I'm amazed at how light it is and the built in clip really keeps the shuffle in place. I've found myself listening to music not only while at the gym but walking to the gym, walking and taking the train to work, when I'm waiting at the airport or even while waiting for things like the barber or doctor. Its just so easy to take with me and slip in my jacket or pants pocket when I'm not using it. One minor qualm the headphones, while comfortable and easy to keep in place don't provide the best sound quality. When I travel or commute I generally use my bose noise canceling headphones which provide a much better sound especially for bass. However my bose headphones are four times as expensive as the shuffle so I'm not complaining much.Customer Review: Great Buy!

I purchased an Apple iPod shuffle 1 GB for my husband because he does landscaping and I thought he might like to listen to music while he works. He loves it! It holds over 200 songs and the battery lasts forever! It is very simple to use and we don't have to worry about him dropping it, it is a very hardy little machine. It even clips to his shirt pocket. And the music is crisp and loud. I'm ordering me one for taking to the gym, my husband won't share his :-) The only thing he complained about was the headphones that came with it, they wouldn't stay in his ear and couldn't compete with the sound of his mowers. We bought a better headphone set, problem solved. We love this thing, we aren't teenagers so we don't need the fancy videos and such of the more expensive ones, this one serves it's purpose for us and we love it!Customer Review: 2nd Generation iPod

I personally love the 2nd generation iPod Shuffle, mainly because the controls are on the ipod itself instead of the headphones. Therefore you can switch out and use many different styles of headphones if you choose, such as noise cancelling and styles that cover the ear completely! Not to mention if anything unforeseen happens to the headphones on the newer version you would have to find replacement headphones that have all the controls on the headphones themselves.....which I personally think stinks! I was extremely happy that I was able to find a 2nd generation ipod for a gift, beings as I am extremely pleased with the one I received as a gift. The only complaint I have is the price I had to pay for this one, originally I believe they sold for around $50.00 and I had to pay $89.00 along with shipping charges to get this one.Customer Review: Great product...but wouldn't buy here again

I love my shuffle. I use it for playing podcasts and audiobooks, rather than music, and for this it is perfect.
My Dad also enjoys podcasts and audiobooks, so I bought one for him for his birthday...since he lives a thousand miles away, I bought it through Amazon. Big mistake there.
Oh, the box got to him on time...but the box was empty except for bubble wrap and an invoice. I guess someone in shipping wanted an iPod.
When I called about this, they did replace the iPod, but would not expedite the shipping so my Dad could get it in time for his Birthday...they did literally the least they could do without legal liability. So much for customer service.
So, my lesson is learned. I've been buying gifts for far flung friends and family through Amazon for years. Never again.

Like a brooch of another century, my Apple shuffles decorate my lapels, collars, and necks of tees most everywhere I go. The jewel colors of the newer ones are attractive and cheerful on any outfit. With the sturdy clip feature, the Apple shuffle can even hide beneath my clothing when wearing it on the outside is inappropriate. I like Apple shuffles because they hold just the right amount for a long walk, interminable times in a waiting room or a quick research visit to the library. Whenever I get a song stuck in my head, the Apple shuffle loads it easily and plays it in my ears until I have become satiated with the annoyance and it disappears. I keep one Apple shuffle loaded with songs that cheer me up and motivate me for doing chores around the house. Versatile and handy, the Apple shuffle is my pick of the iPod line up.
