Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple iPod nano 8 GB Silver (3rd Generation) OLD MODELCustomer Review: Great new ipod nano Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this ipod because the battery of my mini was shot and I thought I would just upgrade to the 3rd gen. nano rather than replacing my battery. I was very satisfied with my decision. This ipod is small and easy to slip in your coat pocket, purse or pants pocket without having to worry about it breaking in half. The 1st and 2nd gen. nanos were rectangular rather than square, making it easier for them to break. This ipod is more durable and if you buy a protective case for it like I did you won't have to worry at all. One of the best things about this ipod is the great color screen and graphics displayed on it. Cover flow is an awesome feature of this ipod as well as video and pictures. I have a tv show and movie on mine and although the screen is pretty small, it's still a good picture and convenient on long car and plane rides. Overall this is a great product.
Customer Review: I did shy away from Apple, now I came back... Summary: 5 Stars
I previously owned a gen 5 iPod with 60 gig...I love it until the headphone jack went out, so I tried to fix it myself since I had it for good two years and didn't want to send it to Apple for half of what I had to pay for in the first place. So I gave up iPod cold turkey, even when they came out with the 80 gig and 160 gig iPod, I never looked back...I also looked at other music players, they didn't feel the same...until I saw the new iPod Nano...so I ordered one as soon as possible, and yes I do have one already (ordered it straight from Apple). It's more compact, I love the click wheel, great for people on the move, 8 gig is enough for people like me, new user interface, and the best thing about the new Nano is the video capabilities...for me it's no big deal, it's not my primary source for video playback, but it's just cool to have that feature...
Customer Review: Keeps getting better Summary: 5 Stars
My involvement with Ipods goes back to Generation 2. The Nano it replaced was quite satisfactory...but I need to upgrade my toys. IMHO this one was definately worth it. Thickness compared to it's predecessor is a push. It is far shorter, but wider. Fits perfectly in the hand. The screen is much larger, similiar operator interface, but new software that is an upgrade from the 7.4 used with the previous version. Very bright screen...vidid colors. Also shows an album cover (if applicable). All in all, I deem it quite an improvement. I believe battery life is longer also. Only downside (if you can call it that) was the VERY tight fit of the cable when disconnecting.
Some may enjoy the larger screen and download photos. I will not. My use of the Nano is exclusively music.
Bottom line - If you have enjoyed previous Ipods, you will love this one.
Customer Review: Not as described Summary: 1 Stars
Even though the item was clearly listed as new on Amazon and the actual order confirmation, it arrived as a questionably refurbished model. I say questionably because it was decidedly not refurbished by Apple, but instead by god only knows who. I found this particularly disturbing since Target was the seller in question and not Uncle Wiggly's Electronic's Shanty or some other dubious retailer. Amazon categorically needs to monitor it's listings for accuracy as I've read several reviews for varying items where consumers have similarly received refurbished items despite having ordered them as new.
Suffice to say the item is being returned for being not as described and until Amazon begins to police these listings more thoroughly. I'm forced to take my business elsewhere.
Customer Review: It's pretty awesome..... Summary: 4 Stars
I got mine last Christmas and was so pumped about it. It's a really good iPod if you like small & compact. The only problem I had with it was the screen so tiny, so watching videos can be a little odd. And when I need to update its software, I download it then it says it'll come back on when it's through uploading... but it just stays off. (This is still a problem I haven't solved, so if someone has a solution-please share! :] ) That's really the only major problem I've had w/ it. Mines the 4 GB and I still haven't used up all the memory, which is good. Because the screen is the size it is i generally only use it for music, so it's a pretty amazing little gadget overall. Oh! & the coverflow is a really cool little deal (in my opinion). lol that's all.
