Customer Review: Excellent little player--real bang for the buck

Even though this player was originally released three years ago and is two generations behind Apple's latest incarnation of the Nano, I believe this is one of the best products ever released by the company. It's a great size and shape, really easy to use, and has tons of wonderful features that make it still seem fresh and relevant in the realm of nearly infinite choices among MP3 players(even in 2010, the age of the iPhone 4 and Touch 3G).
If you are looking for a good value but don't want to spend the $150+ that you'd need for a current generation Apple product with similar storage and features, don't look farther than the third-generation Nano. I'm really impressed with this product.

I'm sure everybody loves the new Nano. It's my FIRST iPod EVER, so let me be a little over-enthusiastic. I also give Apple props for replacing my earbuds (which had the rubber around the edges sorta disintegrating, making them uncomfy to wear (I've since bought some comfier ones, but when something breaks down before it should, I'll be darned if I'll stand for it). I had the replacement within a couple of days, along with return instructions that cost me nothing.
Now I have a new family member to support. I have to feed it with iTunes, encourage it to blossom with a dock that plugs into my stereo and a clock radio that comes with a dock.
Yes, it's a sickness.

This is my first experience using an iPod. We have a son who designs the top of the line earphones for the iPods. It is through his interests for us that we purchased a Nano iPod. I am 80 yrs old and love using this equipment in my woodshop. I can't say enough good about the whole system. The earphones are the very best and the Nano is great. My advice to seniors, get help from your children and grandchildren, as I have done, get to understand and appreciate the wonders of the new technologies out there today. My wife is a tole painter and loves to listen to the equipment as well. The ear phones are made by Klipsch and they are the "greatest". Marvin Blanchard.Customer Review: Great New Product

Believe or not I am a first time i pod user. I just purchased the 8g nano with video. It is great I can't believe I went this long with out one.I highly recommend the armband from apple because the back scratches really easily.They only make one since this is a fairly new model.I also suggest upgrading the earbuds. I went with the earbuds from zen they actually fit inside your ear canal like ear plugs. They rock and come with 4 different sizes and do not fall out when u run.
overall happy with this purchase. The only thing is they should have higher capacity models in the nano. The classic is just too big for me to carry around.

There are several issues that I have with this ipod. First, the earphone
that were provided does not stay stay attached to the ipod ( too loose in
the socket ). Then the control wheels are difficult to use. Finally,
the ipod turns itself on with the slightest pressure when I have in my purse so that the battery drains out without my knowledge. I think that it would be better to have a on/off switch. Since this is the first ipod I have, I am disappointed with the design and quality of it. My kids
have the 2nd generation ipod and they say that is better than the 3rd
generation.
