Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple iPod nano 8 GB Black (3rd Generation) OLD MODEL

Customer Review: expensive novelty
Summary: 1 Stars

The 8 GB iPod nano does hold a lot of music, but not as much as it seems that it should for the memory it has.
The iTunes program downloads jumps and skips into your music. You can put a brand new CD to be 'imported', or whatever they call it when you load music into the iPod, and the program will download jumps and skips into the tracks of the music. They did this so that in a couple of years they will be able to sell you something else. It's called 'scheduled obsolescence'.
There is very, very little bass in the music. To save battery life, there is next to NO BASS. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Save your money. Buy like eight personal CD players, or maybe two or three MP3 players from anyone but Apple. You will enjoy your music much more that way, and still save money. THIS PRODUCT Review: Great Little Player!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars I've had this player about 4 months now, and I have to say it is by far the best of the 3 MP3 players I've had. I had a Creative labs device with a 4gb hard drive that was difficult to use and I'd only get 2-3 workouts before I had to recharge the battery. Then an Iriver 512mb unit that was also difficult to use, but at least the batteries would last. The capacity was of course insufficient.

The Nano however does everything I want it to do and the battery lasts about 6-8 workouts before needing recharging. The menu system is easy, and making adjustments while working out (changing songs, artists, volume etc.) is also simple. Itunes also adds to the enjoyment making it easier to download and manage music than Yahoo Music. All in all I'd definitely buy it again.

Customer Review: A Step Down From the 2nd Generation Nano
Summary: 3 Stars

Are there really that many people that need to watch videos on their music player? I can see the appeal of the Gen 3 Nano if you are a constant train or plane traveler but the new design does nothing for me who just wants to listen to music. I think the new bulkier design and large screen aren't nearly as convenient or aesthetically pleasing as the previous Nano. I have a first generation 4gb Nano but wanted to upgrade for the additional battery life and memory. After looking at the new Nanos I decided to go for a refurbished 2nd generation. I was able to get it direct from Apple for $150 with a 1 year warranty. I love it and am glad to get one before they disappear completely. I think it is a lapse on Apple's part that they now only have the video friendly Nano available.

Customer Review: Great feel, great screen, great video
Summary: 5 Stars

Our sixteen year old daughter used to have a 1st generation iPod Shuffle and then an iPod Nano (1stG as well). She lost both... and cried about it. So she saved for another iPod Nano and was just about to order one when the new ones came out: including video with great display for $50 less! She was really happy. She was even happier when she actually received it in early October. Finally she could look at music videos on an iPod.

In the meantime she has received a camera and makes digital videos, which she can put on her iPod. Do you know that there are lots of video clips out there that you can put on your iPod? For a good number of them you need a converter program. Go to

Customer Review: All looks, no brains........
Summary: 2 Stars

I have never written a review on here before, but I felt I had to do it after I purchased the 2nd gen ipod nano 8gb. When I first got it I opened the box and thought, "Wow! this thing is great looking!" After I loaded my music and started listening to it though is when I realized it was a piece of crap. The sound quality is HORRIBLE! It sounded to me like my songs were playing in slo mo and there was a constant hiss at high volume in the background. It's pretty pathetic actually, when I pay over 200 dollars for a MP3 player, I expect it to have decent sound quality! The only reason I gave this player 2 stars is because it is a very nice looking, very portable player. Other than that, it is a piece of crap and I will be returning it!
